Default Sitcoms are more entertaining on UPN instead of TVLAND and TBS

My local UPN station has started airing All in the Family, Sanford and Son, and Good Times and UPN shows all the funny parts. UPN defintely has editing skills, much better than TBS, and TVLAND. I can understand why TV LAND shows the dull version of these shows because it's suppose to be a family network but I didn't think TBS would edit out all the good parts. But I do recommend UPN if your local UPN station airs your favorite sitcom because they show you all the things that puts the E in Entertainment.

UPN shows the same versions of syndicated TV shows that CBS, ABC, and NBC show. And I think I read TBS also airs the same version. Whether N@N/TV Land leaves the best parts out I suppose is up for debate, since sometimes they take out good parts but sometimes they add in good parts. *shrug*

Sean i have to disagree about UPN showing the same syndicated versions as TBS because I recorded all the Good times episodes off of TBS and i currently record Good Times off the local UPN station and compare both versions and UPN has the funniest version. Now I wish UPN will show syndicated Three's company episodes so i can compare it to N@N.

You should not think of it as being UPN. You should think of local channels as being syndication. It doesn't matter if it's WB, ABC, NBC, CBS or UPN. They will show the same version, as which is specified by the syndicator. TBS and WGN may get slightly different options, since they are cable channels withe local channel counterparts (WTBS 17 in Atlanta and WGN 9 in Chicago) distributed nationally by cable companies.

An example:

Everybody Loves Raymond is repeating all over the place mainly, on WB stations, UPN station and FOX stations.

The same version of each episode is seen on all, despite the WB, UPN and FOX designation.

I hate UPN all they have are sitcoms that I don't relate to. Girlfriends, The Parkers, Half and Half...Yuck! Their syndicated shows aren't much better, Drew Carey, The Hughleys, Jamie Foxx, In the House, etc, etc.

I only watch Buffy on UPN all the other shows including the syndicated shows are crap. They started airing Suddenly Susan last week and it's stupid! I don't find it funny at all.

My local stations suck. All my local UPN shows is court shows (People's Court, Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown, Judge Mathis, Texas Justice). They also show WB programming at odd hours.

My Fox used to be a good place for semi-classics. They used to air MASH, Cheers, Taxi and Sanford and Son. They still air Cheers, but at 12:30am. Taxi is only as a filler. They show A Different World on Friday nights.

I get absolutely NO classics on my locals. I know the programmer at my local UPN and suggested they air some classics. With the dropping of UPN Kids programming, who knows what my LOCAL will do.

Yeah, Solomon, it's just your local UPN affiliate airing those sitcoms. Dang I wish I had classics on my local stations. At least I have someone taping Green Acres for me off a local.

I'm very thankful none of my locals airs The Cosby Show.

My local UPN airs King of the Hill, Will and Grace, That 70s Show, Friends, Just Shoot Me, Spin City, Moesha, Steve Harvey.

I swear, all my locals air the exact same shows, lol, it's so overwhelming. Everywhere I turn (and yes, I KNOW they are succesfull) there are The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond and Friends. That's it, that's all I ever see on my locals, lol.

My local UPN Station shows reruns of:

Cosby
In The House
A Different World
Moesha
Roseanne
Married... With Children
3rd Rock From The Sun
The Steve Harvey Show
The Hughleys
The Jamie Foxx Show
King Of The Hill

The only show out of all of these that I watch is Cosby. I wish they would put on some good comedies like All In The Family and Archie Bunker's Place .

My local FOX Station shows reruns of:

Just Shoot Me
Seinfeld
3rd Rock From The Sun
M*A*S*H
The Simpsons
That 70's Show
Spin City
King Of The Hill
The Larry Sanders Show

I hate every show on that channel except for Seinfeld and The Simpsons.

My local WB Station shows reruns of:

City Guys
The Parent 'Hood
Friends
Everybody Loves Raymond
Dharma & Greg
The Fresh Prince Of Belair
Sabrina, The Teenage Witch
Will & Grace
Frasier
Taxi
Suddenly Susan
Family Matters

Their schedule is the best out of the three.

So between your local FOX, WB and UPN stations the only sitcom from the 70's that is aired s Taxi. That sucks.

I don't watch UPN unless it's classic shows (although I sometimes watch People's Court on it). My UPN station couldn't do a worse job of editing "I Love Lucy." I don't really watch it on TV Land, but when I watched Lucy on N@N, I thought the editing was bad, well it was much better than the way UPN hacks the show up. I've seen a ton of Lucy episodes uncut so I know what those networks are doing. I can only imagine how UPN butchers other classics on there, that I don't know so well.

That's not right to say because if they showed, Good Times, The Jeffersons, What's Happening and Sanford and Son, I would be happy. I just think those other shows stink. However, that's just my opinion.
