Default "bedtime"

Alright. Why do people have a specific "bedtime"? Are so many people really unable to tell that their bodies are tired? And why is it called "bedtime". It sounds sooooo....3 year oldish. Say it to yourself: BEDTIME. It sounds real weird. I mean, I can see a parent telling their YOUNG child "it's bedtime", but say you're in MS or HS, what's up with that?! Can't people just say "I feel tired, so I think I'm going to try and fall asleep now"? And if you MUST say bed in there somewhere, you could say "I'm going to lay in my bed, b/c I'm tired and need to sleep now". I don't like the term bedtime, and more than anything, it sounds most like a porn title to me.....

Because kids my age like to and DO stay up the whole nite- even on a school night. They need their parents to say, get your ass in bed now. Otherwise, theyd be falling asleep in school.

what parents don't know can't hurt em. i mean if you fall asleep in school i don't think they'll find out. atleast not at my school. bed times are good, i guess. as long as you have enough time to get everything done that needs to be done.

if i know i gotta be up early the next mornin g( like tonight) i try to be in bed around 12 .. i'm one of those people that have to have their sleep.. can't operate on only 2.. anywayz. yea, i just think it's a part of being responsible and growing up.. i mean, try waking up for a job when yoru 40 on only 1 hour of sleep cause you thought having a bedtime was "uncool"... won't last long at the job.

Ya, but....why is it called "bedtime"? Why do adults, or people over the age of 4, call it "bedtime"? And, I don't understand why people even want to stay up all night. I mean, what do they do???? Don't things get boring? I also think people should be "mature" enough to realize when they're tired, and go to bed then. I think by 6th grade, you can handle it on your own.

Seems about right. Heck, even if you don't have a job, an hour or 2 of sleep makes for a miserable day. I do get your drift though Adele. Saying "bedtime" is kind of silly. But you know, we all like to keep a few of the habits that Mommy and Daddy raised us up with.

It's called bedtime because it's the time one goes to bed. It's similiar to dinnertime.
Bedtime is used mostly for children, but I use it. I'll say, "It's past my bedtime, so goodnight."...or something like that.
I don't think the term bedtime sounds like a porno movie title.

um, I think its easier to say bedtime rather than "The time I am going to bed..." I don't think it sounds that bad...but yeah you need a time where you need to say alright im going to bed. If I didn't do that I would never sleep.

I'm a major insomniac, so I'm never in bed. I mean, I don't think a person needs to have a specific 'bedtime'...it's when you just feel tired enough

I have trouble sleeping myself. I don't usually go to sleep until 4:30 or 5 in the morning. Every time I try to go to sleep my mind is always thinking about something so thats why I just stay up.
