Arrow Shows you thought you would like, but you didn't.

What shows did you think you would like before you started watching them, but ended up not liking them?

One for me is CBS's remake of The Fugitive. I like the movie and I like Tim Daly on Wings, so I thought I'd give the show a chance. After the first two episodes, I gave up on it. I thought it was dull, boring, and predictable.

Another one is Futurama. I thought I'd like it because it's from the creators of The Simpsons, but it didn't hold my interest at all.

I thought In-laws would be the best show because I liked the idea but it turns out that it was pretty bad. The same goes with My Adventures in Television, and Watching Ellie. The worst part was I made sites for all three sitcoms because I thought they would be great, but when they aired they were pretty bad.

I actually liked all 3

I'm the sort of guy that likes almost anything but "The Rerun Show" was a major dissapointment as was "Thanks".

I agree on Futurama. I thought that was going to be a lot better than it actually was.

I would also like to add Scrubs, Andy Richter Controls the Universe and Hidden Hills.

I really thought I'd like 8 Simple Rules and Life With Bonnie and that maybe my faith in primetime TV would be renewed...I was dead wrong.

Oh wow. I love Futurama! Damn near as funny as The Simpsons.

I can't think of one. Usually if I think it looks good, it is.

I really tried with 8 Simple Rules, but after 3 shows, I gave up. I like John Ritter a lot, and I wanted to love it. I am glad it's doing well though.
I thought I'd like Life With Jim, but it's a kidfest.

I agree. It was kind of a cool idea to redo old episodes of old shows, yet they royally screwed it up. I can understand tossing in a few sex jokes, but the whole show centered on sex jokes, basically. The episodes that I watched did center mainly on sex jokes.

There hasn't been a sitcom released in the past 5 years that's aroused in me any emotion stronger than ennui. However, since the question doesn't seem to be restricted to sitcoms, I think I have a submittal:

Enterprise
I admit I'm a "trekkie" (OK, take your pot-shots now.) and I was intrigued with the idea of the "Trek" universe before the events of the original series. When this series premiered, I was all set to see something original, interesting and fun. Oh...my...GOD!!! I think I've discovered the root cause of narcolepsy. Someone bring me a Vivarin! Do not operate heavy machinery while watching this show. May...no, WILL cause drowsiness, if not catatonia! The "counting sheep" have a new nemesis and it's not a Serta mattress! (Can you tell I thought it was dull...DULL...DULL?!)

Last month my cable company (I don't actually own it) gave us about 15 new channels at no extra cost. One of the channels was F/X. I thought, "Great, now I can watch The Shield"; watched two episodes and it didn't do anything for me. Love TVLand and The Animal Planet.

Oh god, the Rerun show was absolutely terrible. I think I would have rather spent an entire day watching the Jerry Springer show.

I thought The Rerun Show was the pits. What really turned me off about it was the constant sex jokes. I was hoping to see more over-exaggeration of the characters and of the show as a whole. Instead we got was just a bunch of Mad TV-like sketches.
