I have to write this scholarship essay, 150 words or less, and i have to state what question would you answer to any parents if you could sit them down and have tehir full attention, ro something like that.. anyway.. read and reply please!

If I had the ear of all parents across the nation I would answer the all time unanswerable question, “what were you thinking?” Your adolescent years should be used for growing up and learning from mistakes, not stepping out into the world and taking down each challenge with success and honor. Sometimes we make mistakes. Yes, it’s true. When parents ask us “what were you thinking?” and we give them the honest answer, “I don’t know.” We are telling the truth! No child that got caught sneaking out past curfew sat down and weighed the pros and cons. We honestly do not know why we do the things we do, but we do know that we need out parents there. When our friends that led us into the situation have run for cover, we need someone to let us know that, even though we are grounded for life, the sun will still come up tomorrow.

That's really good, Amanda! Can't say I ever would have thought of it. I think you summed up an answer quite nicely.

I think it's excellent. At first glance I would change only one sentence. You might either change it completely or make it just a little bit comical. This is the sentence: "When our friends that 'LED' us into... You could be serious and say went with us or you could joke and say 'led, or I mean, came along, or I mean followed...' Get it. Something like that. I wouldn't leave it with that old 'led us' copout though. If you don't get what I mean just ask.
