Talking Are u worried about the Orange rating?

I don't know if I should be or not. Because terrorists aren't too excited about coming to Iowa, but I am a bit worried (Nuclear Bombs in America *Shudders*)

Sad

I'm very concerned. I'm more worried about bioterrorism than Nuclear. It's all very scary. But I'm more nervous about what the US government might do in the aftermath of another September 11th.

Cool

I'm not too worried about it because there isn't much I can do and because I know the end will eventually come for the entire world, so ....

I don't think any of this will be it.

My mom keeps going on about the smallpox vaccine thing. I don't trust it, I worry about the side effects. Especially because if something really did happen, and lets say a good chunk of the population dies - like the black plague kind of thing - I'd rather die with everyone else than be left behind.

When I was younger, I worried a lot about this kind of thing, because there was so much I wanted to do, I didn't want to miss out. Now, I don't feel i'd be missing too much.

I'm really not that worried. I think everyone's overreacting. Everyone knows that whatever anyone does to the U.S. we do back to them only a lot worse. It would be stupid for anyone to risk that happening to them.

I got the smallpox vaccine. It was a must in India. The side effects weren't so bad. It was just the entire process that was painful. 15 individual shots and it blistered for such long time. I still have the scar and it's sort of like a Harry Potter scar, if I press it too hard, it hurts.

I have no medical background, so this is just speculation on my part. From what I've heard, with any type of innoculation, there is always a certain percentage of the population that will have a bad, sometimes even fatal, reaction. This seems to be the case regardless of whether it is a smallpox vaccine, a flu shot, or whatever. If the decision is made to make the vaccine available to everyone, I think cetain safeguards should be observed:

1. It should be voluntary.
2. Each person should be made fully aware of any potential side effects before they receive the shot.
3. If there is a way to identify individuals who may be at more risk than others to possible side effects - due to age, existing medical conditions, allergies, etc., then by all means these people need to be notified of the chance they are taking with the vaccine..

(By the way, White Daisy, I, and I'm sure others here, would like to hear about your adventures in India sometime!)

The shot should most def. be voluntary, but it wasn't for us. We knew about some risks, but we were supposed to have the shot anyway. I'm sure something must have been done for people who could not take the shot because of health, but since we were healthy, our mom took us for it. By the way, "we" is my brother and me.

As for my "adventures" ( ) in India, ask anything you want, I'd be glad to answer.

I try not to live in fear. It was hard after 9/11, but now I just take one day at a time.

I agree - I take life one day at a time aswell.
I'm not frightened of war. Of course I don't want a war to happen - it's not necessary and I'd hate for that wanker Bush to get his own way - but if it did happen I wouldn't be scared.
I think war and the threat of death is only scary if you have something to protect. I have no children, no partner, no family (that I care about), no prospects and only one friend. If you told me I'd die tomorrow I wouldn't give a f*ck.
You can't live in fear - what kind of life is it when you are constantly afraid? It's no life at all.
Take one day at a time and cross each bridge as you come to it - that's all you can do.

But as for war against Saddam - f*ck off!!!! Bush is just seeking trouble, I can't believe people in the US are standing by him!! Noone in the UK is behind Tony Blair anymore since he's been supporting Bush. Tony is out on his arse come the next election!!!!

**** the orange rating. I think it's a ploy to try and get more approval for the Iraq war.

I'm not worried about it. We spend all of our time worrying about it, and thats what they want. To paralyze us with fear...and some people are letting it happen.

I agree. And personally, if anyone is going to use nuclear weapons on the US, they might as well do it right where I live because I'd rather die right away than suffer from radiation and what not and be miserbale before I die. I don't want to die of course but if I'm going to in that type of situation that's how I want to go.
