Default What are your thoughts on George Jefferson from Jan 18, 1975 to April 12, 1975

I personally enjoyed all 13 episodes of the Jeffersons first season and George was very entertaining. I was amused by The character George Jefferson because of his yelling, door slamming, insulting, dancing, singing, and fighting. Anyone want to share their thoughts of the George Jefferson character from season one?

I disagree, I think George definitely changed during the series run. He got so soft towards the end.

I Never really though so. I Mean, He was a LITTLE nicer, But he was still Greedy, Loud Mouthed and slammed doors on peoples faces. I Mean, Remember when he used Jessica's Girlscout troop or whatever to help him get that good deed?

If you notice, the major change was no more yelling from George. Think about it, George yelled less and less as the series went on.

It was obvious that the powers that be made the right decision to tone down George, based on how well the Jeffersons did in the Nielsen ratings. Personally, all his yelling and screaming in the 1st season did get annoying. But, his cocky behavior was always present throughout the series and that's what is really associated with the character.

However, I would have to say, that totally taking out the racial aspect of The Jeffersons in the final 3 seasons was a terrible move. This was what really softened the George character.

Yeah by the 80's-no episode is worth recording, only watching.

I would agree, most of the episodes from the 9th Season (1982-1983) through the final season (1984-1985) I don't have on tape. But there are a few exceptions. I am surprised how good the 1981-1982 season is despite the non-racial atmosphere, almost every episode from the season is classic.

I have to check the primetime list for the 81-82 season because I cannot figure out how the Jeffersons was in the top 10 in that season. I have to see what the competition was in the Jeffersons time slot.

I just checked, and there was no other Sitcom on at the time the Jeffersons aired(9;30pm) in the 81-82 season. Both ABC and NBC were showing movies instead of Sitcoms on Sunday nights during the 81-82 season

That's cool because that's probably one of my favorite seasons. The only episode I didn't like from that season was Blazing Jeffersons.

Was the 81-82 season the season when George was stabbed by the Female Gang Leader in the alley?
