Default Chachi and the Cunninghams

After Joanie & Chachi split, why was Chachi still hanging around her house? If Josh & I split, then I'd be too bitter to go anywhere near him or his family.

Maybe he hung around hoping that Joanie would wanna be with him again, but he can't be that good at hiding his emotions. Yeah, he occasionally got bitter, but I would have been spitting flames every single moment.

Default And furthermore..!

I pulled some tapes off the shelf yesterday, and in the episode where Chachi has to write a history report, he's sitting at the CUNNINGHAM table to do it. I don't think they ever resolved WHY he was there, either.

Now, I don't know about you, but if my daughter's boyfriend broke into my house when nobody was home, even if it WAS to do schoolwork, I might think he was a little weird... obsessive maybe...

Howard: Chachi, don't you have a home? Why are you working on homework in my house?
Chachi: The better to stalk Joanie with, Mr.C...er...uh... Why did I say that?

That was a good ep. And how about the poker game night? I can understand why he invited Fonzie & Roger, but Chachi?!?! I'm sure Mr. C is a popular man, doesn't he have other friends? Sure, it led to a wonderful, but short confrontation, but if he knew that it was coming, why did he invite him?

Yeah, Mr. C did say that he liked Chachi the best out of all of Joanie's boyfriends, but I'm still iffy about it. He's not your pal, he's just a kid.

Boy, Chachi was really close to the C's. Too close in my opinion. If I came home to find him working in my kitchen, I'd throw him out, whether my daughter was dating him or not. Sure, Josh comes over to my house all the time, but he doesn't come when I'm not home. My dad and him aren't best friends. They went kayaking once, but that was so my dad could threaten to ram into the rocks if he ever did anything. Even my older brother who's only two yrs older than him isn't his pally pal. My younger brother likes him fine, but he prefers his friends.

I say the Cunninghams are more dysfunctional than we think

Potsie and Ralph were always hanging around the Cunninghams House. So why not Chachi?

Yeah, but Potsie & Ralph never went out with and were bitterly dumped by Joanie.

And if you notice, they always had legit reasons to be there. Earlier, they were always looking for Richie whenever they entered the Cunningham house. Later on, Potsie always came in because he wanted to see "Howie." Poor Potsie...no friends at all...

But Chachi shouldn't have been there after Joanie had dumped him. He had no reason to be. He had been humiliated. He was angry, and most likely jealous. What good would it do him hanging around her house even when she wasn't there?

I think the sad truth is that all of them have no friends

I'm not saying there is, Old people are so nice, but why did Mr. C invite Chachi for the poker game if he knew there might be a confrontation? I can understand with the hw, I mean..Fonzie lived upstairs. I'm trying to analyze a character that isn't even real, this is terrible

The Cunninghams were a very popular couple, but it seemed like they'd prefer to be left alone most of the time....

Well, Potsie and Joanie did have that whole episode about Joanie's crush on Potsie. And Potsie did sat that he would probably develop a crush on Joanie when she grew up and wind up wishing that she still felt that way. It is a long shot, but it just may be possible that Potsie REALLY came around to see Joanie and hope to rekindle the romance. You know, they had a whole world that the cameras never showed. Potsie was just using Richie and Howard as an excuse to come over. And poor Ralph was just another pawn in his scheme.

Remember that Fonzie lived upstairs from the C's and the C's had lots of FOOD. Given that combination, what teenage boy could resist? Perhaps Chachi started out visiting Fonzie and just followed his nose to the C's kitchen!

You're right, Potsie could have come over in hopes of rekindling the romance. You know, I find random pieces of evidence for that. Like at Fonzie's bday party at the HD Anniversary thing, Potsie was sitting next to Joanie. And just recently, the Modelling ep, did anyone see how Potsie made a beeline straight for Joanie, completely ignoring his two best friends? Joanie might have lost her feelings for Potsie, but I don't think he lost his. Jennifer kinda looks like Joanie anyway. Hair color, squinty eyes when smiling, short hair...you never know. And that's why he was so bitter and didn't show up at the wedding....Potsie, Potsie, Potsie...

Hmm good question WD this isnt the answer I'm SURE but when I broke up with boyfriends MOST OF THE TIME (with the exception of ONE who well cheated on me!!) we usually remained good friends so I'd still hang out with them IN THE CASE of the cheating on me EX I was always closer to his younger brothers then I was him so once we DID break up I still hung out with his brothers
