Ward and June of course! But then again, probably everyone on this board is probably a bit biased!

Definately Ward and June! They had such amazing chemistry for just acting. You can tell Hugh and Barbara were very comfortable with each other and I bet it was very fun kissing Hugh! WOW!!! Too bad they were married to other people in real life.

I'd have to say Ward and June! Just look at the way they look at each other! Hugh and Barbara definately had the greatest chemistry and it really looks as though they are in love...two great actors! Sometimes u gotta wonder if they're acting!

I think Ward & June, too. They took their roles as parents very seriously, and they definitely had an onscreen chemistry. I like Rob and Laura, but they were more of a modern couple for that era while the Cleavers were more traditional.

Ward and June, definitely. Hugh Beaumont and Barbara Billingsley had great chemistry and if they really were in love, it wouldn't come as much of a surprise to me. They didn't seem like they were acting, they seemed like Ward and June.

Both couples had great chemistry onscreen. You got to see a little more affection with Rob and Laura.Dick Van Dyke's son even wondered if anything happened between his dad and MTM for real...he said DVD denied it,but he's not sure... (jokingly)
But ward and June were great and loved each other a lot!

I agree with you Chris! Ward and June's relationship was much more sexy in seasons 1 and 2, but since the show was mainly focused through Beaver's eyes, we didn't see as much chemistry as we did between MTM and DVD.

Boy, this is a tough one. I can't decide. I do agree with BeaverFan5 that Ward and June were more romantic and playful in the earlier episodes than in subsequent seasons.

How much like Rob and Laura Petrie might Ward and June Cleaver have been when they were younger?

I have read about (not seen) the New LITB episode where there is a flashback to when Ward and June first met, and it was when he was in the Seabees and she was in the USO. In the Dick Van Dyke Show, Rob and Laura met when Rob in the army in charge of a show and Laura was a dancer for the USO. [The LITB fanfic I wrote is a variation of this situation.]

There are other DVD flashbacks to when Rob and Laura were just getting settled and Rob was trying to become established as a comedy writer. We aren't given that kind of info about Ward and June, because LITB is always focused on the boys. But we can imagine they had struggles to get where we see them from the beginning in middle-class America, and had some fun, romantic times in getting there, like Rob and Laura.
