Question Who is the correct granddaughter?

I recently saw the episode entitled "You're Never Too Old," in which Hank Brady (Mike's grandfather--I think) and Connie Hutchins (Carol's grandmother--I think) pay a visit to the Bradys.

Notice the "I think" parts up above. I remember one scene in which Marcia calls Connie Hutchins "Grandma" instead of the correct "Great-Grandma". Was this a mistake?

That part of the family tree should show as, in ascending generational order:

Connie Hutchins

Helen Tyler

Carol Ann Tyler

Marcia---Jan---Cindy
(Martin, Brady)

Cool

"Grandma" was probably easier to say than "Great -- grandma" . If your grandfather marries your wife's grandmother, you're semi -- related, but are you really going to worry about it ? I read a story in a magazine ( I don't know if it was really true ) about a young college student and his girlfriend , The student's mother coincidentally fell in love with the girl's father . The older couple told them "You can't be a couple ! You're going to be brother and sister !", and the younger couple took the position "We were in love before you even met !" . It was a soap opera situation, until everybody agreed that nobody was really related to anybody else, and if you're happy with the person you're with, that's all that matters . I'm not a minister, so I can't come to any better decision about the matter . I do know that it must happen more than anybody realizes .

I used to talk about my "Uncle Archie" who was actually my mother's uncle. you'll notice that an episode was titled Jan's aunt Jennie though she was actually her great aunt.

So , yeah, nothing should be read into the kids calling her "Grandma"

Growing up there were two people I called Aunt Maxine and Uncle Ed, whom I later discovered were my father's aunt and uncle. I guess my parents thought "Great Aunt" and "Great Uncle" were too big a mouthful for me. That confused me for a while!
