Default When do you have the time?

I am new to this site and I am amazed how many shows everyone tapes. Do you pause on commercials? I find it very hard to sit for that long of a time.
We just bought a dvd writer and I would love to copy my vhs shows on to dvd. They will last so much longer, and then I will cut out all commercials.
I would also love to collect other shows but how does everyone find the time or do you just set a timer?

Do you copy commercials? And if you do what happens when you want to trade? does that bring the value down?

I set my shows to record while I'm at work and then when I get the time I go back and rerecord them onto another tape and edit out commercials. The quality is still good more often than not.

I would never have time to go back through my tapes and re-edit them with no commercials. That would be like double taping for me. I miss a LOT of stuff because of when I work that I want to be taping not to mention things overnight that I can't stay up all night and tape! I don't have enough time, that's for sure! If I have time I'll edit out commercials when I copy tapes for someone but I dont say that I will because I never know what's going to be going on when i'm taping.

The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.

I used to sit and edit commercials a lot but it's very difficult sometimes...life itself just gets in the way. But someday in a few years they'll be old commercials and actually fun to watch. Don't you love when you get a 70's or 80's show with original ads? I do!

Your right, we have laughed at some of the old commercials. They are like classics themselves. So in that case maby I can go throgh my tapes and trade with people. I just didn't think they would want commercials, but you can always fast forward over them
