Was it ever revealed how much money Norm owed on his bar tab? I suspect he owes a lot.

They never revealed an actual number, but they did have an episode where Sam pulls out a box that said,"Norm's Bar Tab." In it, were mounds and mounds of paper about his tab. There was also an episode where Sam said his retirement fund was Norm's tab so you knew it was a lot.

I wonder if he ever paid back his tab. I know he didn't on the show.

ok...heres just some quick numbers im doin as i type this lol:

norm's been coming to the bar since the 60's. during the show, the price of a draft was $2, so we'll average that out (from the 60's to today) at about $1.75 a beer.
we'll say he had an average of 11(?) beers a day and started to go to Cheers in...1966(?)

11 x 365.25= 4017.75 beers a year
4017.75 x $1.75 = $7031.06 per year
7031.06 x 37 years = $260,149.22

so he's spent $260,149.22 on a appx. $2 beer for 37 yrs. now. im sure its even more than that. maybe we'll get a real number in a reunion (hey they say Frasier's last yr will be 2004)

They sai ounce on letterman the actual number but i forgot. I think it was like 360,000 dollars or somethin.

Norm bought Sam the boat with the money he won in Atlantic City, true. And then Sam mentions how Norm could pay off the tab in 12 easy payments. And in Daddy's Little Match Girl, Norm thought that his tab was burned up, but Sam tells him it ws in the safe. So it wasn't wiped out. Still there!

It was weird, over the summer I was playing a game of Trivial Pursuit, and the question came up "What was Norm's final bar tab after Cheers ended" or something like that...I had no idea, it must've been from what "Norm" said from letterman or something....all i know is I was stumped
