Default The TRUE chemistry between Freddie & Jack

I was watching my tapes last nite, laffing and crying as I usually do. There are so many touching scenes....but one REALLY got me. The one where Chico wanted to put the tub in and almost had to move out. There are so many things about this episode that touch me..... Chico on the stairs nearly in tears "My life is over...I'm not only homeless....I'm bathless"......BUT MOST OF ALL.......The very end, Chico says he thinks maybe he should still move out and Ed says, "I'd miss you"....... Well, the tears just STREAMED down my face. You could see the love between these two....and it was not just in the script. It was really touching. Of course, it had to end it in a laff as Chico says "You'd miss me?" and Ed replies ..... "But I wont miss ya with this if you dont get back to work" as he chases Chico with a wrench.....hehe...... Dang...those two were good together!

You are so right about that episode! When Chico's on the stairs in tears it gets to me everytime & I'm breaking out the hankies... When he walks down off the stairs & says hi to Louie you can see him wiping his tears with the back of his hand. He is so sweet in that episode & you do see the love between Chico & Ed.

That is one of my favorite episodes and when i watch it I always rewind it a couple times when Chico is saying maybe he should move out.
I have to admit I don't see the tears that some of you comment on in many of the episodes but I definately hear the catch in Chico's voice as he is explaining why he thinks he should ,ove out It is beautiful, and also on the boxing episode when they are talking in the office at the end

Smile Thanx, Cheryl...

for capturing my favorite scene from that terrific episode! I have posted on here about this before, but it bears repeating here--one of the ways Luckymama and I knew we were meant to be friends was, when that scene appeared as we were watching the tapes she made for me on her first visit to my house, we both said "Awwww!" at the same time! LOL!

I also love the scene in the office near the end of the boxer episode, Joy. It is of course all the more touching when you think of when it originally aired...

You are right, TM2002--Freddie and Jack really had a bond, and it showed onscreen in sooo many big and small ways! But these scenes at the end of the bathtub and boxer episodes were among the most touching.

Another one of my favorites was the scene at the end of the episode in which Chico plans to go back to NY to work for his cousin Carlos. That was probably the first time the love between these two very different characters--and the men who played them--broke through the humor so completely.

The sad thing was that Jack saw him as the son he never had.........

Default Freddie & Jack

I just wanted to say that I agree with all your wonderful comments. The relationship that Freddie and Jack shared on screen will be hard to ever match again. It was truly magic. And now they are together once more...up there...working out that vaudville routine that they always talked about. What incrediable talent and love. Everytime I watch my CATM tapes...I not only enjoy the brilliant comedy but also the great love that shows through with each scene...each hug..each pat on the back, each smile and each affectionate glance.

That's a neat pic of Freddie. The way he looks you can't help but wonder what was on his mind...

What a great picture! I agree...you have to wonder just what he was thinking when it was taken.

Just the thought of Freddie puts a smile on my face. You know, I believe THAT would make him happy....to know he always has and always will make people smile. I really think the dear under estimated himself. I dont he ever realized just how much of an impact he made. The gift of laughter is HUGE. To be able to make people forget their troubles, even for a few brief moments is truly a gift.

Thanks for sharing that Freddie.
