Yup. Danville is a pretty small town. It used to be called (couple 100 years ago) Hawke. Then they switched it to Danville. While back when I was like, 12, they had a Danville tour. Went to the red school houses, the old town hall, cemeteries, some bee cave thing. It was pretty cool.

I think its interesting to see the history of how your twon grew from when it started till now. They have awesome pictures inthese papers of what are town was like in 1884, I found out I live on one of the oldest streets in town. Here are some artlicles about the headlines above:

Insanity strikes Arlington guest-Another Arlington Hotel guest had more serious problems. He spent a night in a hotel room in September, 1889, but during the night he became insane.
His lamenations and prayers disturbed other guests, so the proprieter called the law enforcement officers.
The poor man firmley believed that he was appointed to the vacant seat in Congress occasioned by the death of Hon James Laird the paper reported.
The man was quieted, but instead of treatment, was put on the first train to Minden at Minden he got off again, and there he was pronounced insane and sent to the asylum.

Sometimes I think our town was more interesting then than it is now. lol

It has to do with siamese twins. Here is the article:

Twins can't get married in Holdrege- A pair of siamese twins found in October of 1934 that Holdrege officials were like other officials around the country.
They wouldn't perform a marriage ceromony for one of the sisters.
The Hilton sisters, Daisey and Violet, were in town to entertain at a dance sponsored by sod busters. They were born joined together at the base of the spines.
Daisey had fallen in love with a man, they had been searching all over the country for someone who would marry them, but no official wanted to preform the ceremony.
Appearently an unidentified official had expressed a willingness to perform the ceremony, but backed out at the last minute.
The girls preformed the dance anyway.
According to the paper, the girls wore beautiful frocks made alike and have the same taste and depositions, are also graceful dancers, sing harmoniously an play the saxaphone.
The twins left Holdrege early in the morning still single.

So thats the story of the twins.

My town has less than 1,000 people and has been around since about 1830. It's not famous for anything as far as I know.

I don't know a damn thing about this town. Except that right now it's buried in snow and ice.
