Default Life Without Archie (an idea)

I think they should revive the show with a new title which would be called LIFE WITHOUT ARCHIE.
It would start out with everyone learning Archie has just passed away and then Gary Rabinowitz would buy the bar.
Gary would keep the name of the bar to Archie Bunker's Place.
Gary's partner at the bar would be Joey Stivic.
The regulars would be:
Gary (Archie Bunker's Place new owner, not a lawyer anymore.)
Joey (Gary's bar partner.)
Harry (who would sit in Mr. Van Ranseleer's old spot.)
Barney (still layed off.)
Jose' (still the cook.)
Raul (still the second cook.)
Stephanie (who would be another cook.)
Billie (who would now be the bartender.)

Who likes my idea?

Thanks,

Archie and Edith

Sorry to be this blunt, but your idea sucks. With Carroll gone, any sequel or reunion other than just a retrospective cannot be done. Let Archie R.I.P.

Carroll is gone, but Archie can live forever. Yes, I consider Archie to be a living and breathing person that can live forever. It would be a crime to kill off Archie. Let it be and the only reunion (if they choose to have one) let it be just the cast getting together and talking about the show. I like that idea best.

It wouldn't be the same type of show. They don't make shows like ABP anymore. It would end up being on the idea of Cheers. Your idea, I mean.

This is such a stupid idea. I guess any reply to this bumps the thread back up to the top. Is there any way to bump this thread back to the bottom or lost forever where it belongs!

Let's go easy on KayEn78 who is pretty nice. Besisdes, they are other people who really have issues that are members on this boards. I was actally thinking of doing a reunion fan fic which would focus on Archie considering selling the house and marryiing his ladyfriend of two years. I have been wanting to do that for a long time.

Thanks, ThomasE, for your comment; but I didn't reply on this topic. It was another topic where someone gave me a hard time. Anyway, I think you should write your fan fic idea. It sounds interesting.

Kay is very nice, she didn't suggest this dumb idea, it was "Archie and Edith". Thomas, I hope you and Kay keep churning out those wonderful fan fics.

But the idea of a new series with the supporting characters but without Archie is as dumb as Eight Simple Rules going on without John Ritter (wait a minute, ABC is that dumb!)

Life "without" Archie. Sounds great. Let's take the supporting cast of a show, that while good, wasn't nearly as good as the show it grew out of, All In The Family and focus on that.

Does anybody remember a show called After-MASH?

Need I say more?

Leave well enough alone. Archie had a 12-year run between the two shows and there's no need to have a show that reminds us that Carroll O' Connor is gone. Watch the old shows and enjoy them - Archie Bunker lives on in rerun heaven. Along with Edith, Mike and everyone down at the bar.

Oh No

And let's not forget the "memorable" (for all the wrong reasons) "The Golden Palace"!

Now, if they wanted to do a show called Stephanie, that might be interesting. We could see where she is in life - married, single, widowed, single mom - and find out what happened to her in the last 20 years.

Obviously, it would reference the death of Archie and perhaps cameos by Gloria and a grown Joey - he'd be about 30 years old now (yikes!) - could happen.

But Life Without Archie??

In 1977, they tried doing a show called The Sanford Arms without Redd Foxx (who was still alive) in the role of Fred Sanford and it lasted less than a season.

Need I say more...??
