Cool Hi everyone!

hey everybody! i'm lucy, and i'm new here, and just want to get to know everyone. i've noticed that over the last few weeks, the board has been sort of dieing, and i wanna change that! so, one of the topics i was reading about was whether or not barbara and larry--eh-- ahem ahem--u get the idea, and i just want to get your feel on the issue, what do u think? i dont think they did, after all, at the time, they were both married--to other people and i don't think that either of them would want to ruin what they already had. but, if they hadn't been married...then i do believe that they would've started dating. i was reading one post on the topic by i think megan, and she said something about the "bad kisser thing" whats that all about? it sounds hilarious, oh well, wat do u think?

Well welcome.

Larry Hagman + Barbara Eden = I really don't know?

I have to say they had great chemistry, and there is that hint there was something there between the two actors but other than that ............... it a big ? to me.

Bad kissers was just something where talking about. Back in the 60s there was no open mouth kissing, so we kind of compared Hagman and Eden to other couples back then. I can't remember if they kissed on DALLAS, I know they didn't kiss in the movie A Howling in the Woods.

Larry Hagman and Barbara Eden did kiss in the Dallas episodes, but the kissing scenes were not like the ones in I Dream of Jeannie.

You need to remember that Barbara Eden's LeAnn character hated JR as much as her Jeannie character loved Tony. I did not watch Dallas much until the Barbara Eden episodes, but I loved that she was probably the only woman to pull one over on JR.

Personally I never thought that Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman were "bad kissers." True they could not kiss the way actors are allowed to kiss on tv today or even in the eighties (remember Capt Furillo and Joyce Davenport?), but the way they looked at one another, held, and kissed one another could lead one to believe they cared very deeply for one another.

Smile There is no such thing as "bad" kissing

I really don't understand how anyone can call closed-mouth kissing "bad" or that open-mouthed is preferable. If you are a little more observant of your average married couple, you will probably see that most kiss close-mouthed. For example, my wife and I kiss closed-mouth and we find it quite enjoyable. We may keep our lips loose, but the mouth remains closed versus the stuff you see today where it's as if they are trying to get as slobberly as possible and call it kissing. That same stuff we all see on TV and movies these days I find to be more exhibitionism than anything approaching reality. I'm just waiting for someone oneday to yelp in pain as their tongue is bitten by the other

Also, closed-mouth kissing was not just something of the '60's. Go back to the beginning of film starting with the silents and up through the '70's. Would you call the kissing between Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh in Gone With The Wind to be "bad" kissing? I think not. And, if you do observe those that find enjoyment in the closed-mouth act of kissing you will probably notice that this is the norm for those couples in true love with each other. This is shown to us amply in many of the episodes of IDoJ both after they were married and in many of the episodes prior. An excellent example would the end of the first season episode Where'd You Go-Go. I would have to say that Jeannie and Tony are very much in love just by the way they kiss, whether he wanted to admit to it or not

Wowwwwwww, I think I should of inlighted you people a bit more on what was said, I'm not sure who said it, I think it was Dana (oh by the way I have taken over her ID) I think the subject was finished off early in 1020 Palm Drive (yahoo groups). No one did say Larry Hagman and Barbara Eden were bad kissers, they were talking about other actors who were bad kissers and as I recall David Hasseloff won that round and if I'm remember right Richard Dean Anderson came out on top as one of the best kissers (I never said that but I agree 100%) oh and also so John and Marlena fron Days of our Lives. I like David Hasseloff but I have to say he was a bad kisser if you watched Knight Rider.

About the open mouth kissing we just said how Major Nelson and Jeannie kisses looked full of passion even though it was not open mouth kissing.

Hey Ruth, I haven't talked to you or Dana in a mad long time. I've been really busy lately, but I'm still an IDOJ lover. And a T&J chemistry lover.

John & Marlena : Tony & Jeannie, now let's see, the BEST COUPLES EVER???? BEST KISSERS EVER?????

YES

They've got passion, chemistry, and you've got to wonder......... was there something more that went on with these Actors. I still think that they do care deeply, most likely love, each other, but because they are married I think that they just settled for being onscreen together. JMHO.

Yeah you'll be waiting for about 3-4 years. At least I know I've got a copy, reserved. I've been really busy with Basketball. Our last game was last night. I'm waiting to see if I made All-Tournament. It's a long wait. lol I should probably go watch some IDOJ to pass the time, that show just gets funnier and funnier. lol.
