Question Current Events and Politics Board

This might be a good idea. Current events and politics could have their own section like Music, Movies and Sports do.
It could still be in Chit Chat, but not in with the lighthearted Chit Chat discussions.

Good idea, Janice. I used to go to the tabloid boards and over there they added a board to talk about the Sept. 11th attacks. I never went into that board, but I bet they use it for current issues too.

Good idea.

As long as it doesn't lead to too many arguments.

Maybe that would be a good idea. I don't get the "not too many fights issue" though. Why would changing those discussions to a new section be any different fight-wise than it is now?

The only snag I see is that even light topics can turn into debates. The thread on Chit Chat, Most famous crime in your city or state?, turned into a debate on the Rodney King beating.
I've seen heated arguments break out over milder topics. So I don't know....

I like the idea a lot, but if you're talkin' politics, you should expect some heated debates.

I agree too! That way it keeps the big fights off the Chit Chat board

I Think its getting a bit ridiculous now. I Like to participate in a few Political Threads, But Chit Chat is filled with them.

Sounds good to me. We have a chit chat board for just about everything else. Soon there won't be any need for the main chit chat board.

Sounds like a good idea.

While we're at it, how about putting a moratorium on Plata/Halex/Jem's anti-Bush topics? I'm all for freedom of speech, but she's posted so many of them and they're starting to get annoying. Can't she be told to keep them all on one thread or something?

Ha! Ha! Yeah, good idea. I'd probably just post them under a current events and politics board, though. If I had my seperate board, no-one would read them so I wouldn't get any reactions. What fun would that be?

That would be a good idea. Of course if they DON'T add something like that here, people could go to MY site to debate politics/current issues (sorry, shameless promotion hehe)
