Thumbs down I Think I Like The Original Dragnet Better!!!

Judging from the previews of the new Dragnet that is coming on ABC this Sunday,I don't think I will like it!!! Personally, there are far more shoot them ups than the original Dragnet with Jack Webb and Harry Morgan,in fact, the one from the 60's didn't have all of them shoot them ups at all, just featured shows about different things about thefts and robberies and stuff like that!!! There was a chemistry between Jack and Harry that I liked!!! Harry always livened things up on there!!! I have 6 of the videos from the 60's episodes and can't stop watching them!!! Any thoughts about the new Dragnet???

I don't think this new version is gonna be that good. The previews make it looks like just another crime show but Dragnet had something to it that they can remake.

The original Dragnet was on in the 1950's. It did not have Harry Morgan in it.

The second version (1967-1970) is the one with Harry Morgan.

I have never seen an episode from the first Dragnet series, and just a handful of episodes from the second Dragnet.

A few days ago, I saw a biography on Jack Webb.

I wonder how many people on this forum, saw episodes from the 1950's Dragnet.

I'll be honest with y'all. This is the first new show in years that I've actually wanted to watch...and I'm glad I did. It's great! Dick Wolf proved he's a good producer. It's also one of the few remakes to actually remain fairly true to the original. The opening, Joe talking to the audience throughout, THE END!! They kept the mugshot scenes!!!

Sweet show- I hope it sticks around for a long time.

I remember the original Dragnet having been on and what Jack and Ben looked like. I just don't remember any of the stories, except for one that I found on tape in the video store. I remember quite a few of the ones with Harry Morgan in the sixties. Those were the ones I liked the best, but the new ones aren't so bad, what I've seen so far.
