Default TV Land January Ratings, Tempeatures May Have Dropped, But TV Land Sizzled

Temperatures Drop but TV Land's Mercury Rises As Network Records Most-Watched Month Ever Sanford and Son, MacGyver Score Double-Digit Gains for Classic TV Network

New York, NY, Jan. 28, 2003 – Winter’s deep freeze can’t stop classic TV from sizzling as TV Land recorded its highest audience levels ever among total viewers and in its target Adults 25-54 demo on a total day basis in January. Fueled by the launch of Sanford and Son, the addition of MacGyver and the continued strength of the network’s schedule of classic TV programming, the network finished the month with a +33% ratings increase in its target Adults 25-54 audience and a +34% gain among total viewers in total day over January 2002.

‘TV Land is off to a roaring start for 2003,’ said Larry W. Jones, Executive Vice President and General Manager, TV Land and Nick at Nite. ‘Our viewers continue to tune into our already stellar classic TV line-up, and with new programming like MacGyver and Sanford and Son, they know they are guaranteed the best of everything television.’

For January 2003, according to Nielsen Media Research (12/30/02-1/26/03), TV Land was up +33% in rating and +40% in delivery in total day, averaging a 0.4/321,000 among Adults 25-54. The network also drew 569,000 persons 2+ in total day, representing a +34% increase over last year.
