Default Rare Pic

I don't know if this is a rare picture or not. (it seems rare to me cause i have not seen it before) but it is a picture of lucille ball not to long before her death.

Yes, it is from a New York trip i think when she went to see the show of a female impersonator, Charles Pierce. I think Charles is standing next to her as Bette Davis, but was cut out of the picture.

Listen, i could be wrong, but it sure looks like the picture with Pierce, it was in Lee Tannen's book, think he was a friend of Lee's. There was a great story about him in the book, he asked Lucy to go to his show, they were filming it for TV, and he came out as Hepburn, and some light didn't work, so Lucy turns to Lee or somebody and says they're going to have to do the entrance over, that light is out. And, sure enough a few minutes later, the director stops the show and they redid everything. She was a real pro when it came to things like that. Pierce died a few years ago. He was a very famous impersonator like Jim Bailey.

She spoke beautifully and compared herself to Lucy saying all women owed her a debt as she put her career on hold to give birth and that was something Shel believed in also!

Seing as you're such a fan, what movies of hers did you like or not like. Shelley was always saying Lucy was a role model to her, i LOVE her, she was great on Cheers, i remember her also in Outrageous Fortune with Bette Midler, a great talent, we don't see enough of her though! At the Variety Clubs tribute, she was there with Ted and even the actor that played Coach but died afterwards!

So what's not to like, she was just maddening sometimes as Diane Chambers, but only in the beginning, at the end, she deserved the Emmy, and besides anybody who likes Lucy is ok by me! AND I LOVED HER IN NIGHT SHIFT, also that Tom Cruise movie, Losin it, ever see that?
