And now for Callmetootie's Mid-Season Schedule Analyzation:

Mid-season this year should be interesting. But it won't. ABC is probably going to have the roughest time here. All 3 Monday Night Dramas are in BIG trouble. While Vertatis and The Practice at least got an OK 6.4 rating, Miracles lost most of the audience to a 5.0. Dragnet will probably get a run for it's money, and ABC comedies don't look much better. Lost At Home has received glowing reviews from newspapers, but the show doesn't look like strong material to me. Gregory Hines cannot hold his own show...it's been tried before. Now for NBC. A.U.S.A is possibly the biggest advertised sitcom since...well, In-Laws. This show looks horrendous, and is going to rely on Frasier to get them ratings. I expect Hidden Hills to come right back in after this one is gone. It looks like a rehash of the film Liar Liar and a bad episode of Just Shoot Me. The only other sitcom Watching Ellie which will probably take over JSM's slot will not fare well either, despite the fact that there is a small legion of fans behind it. Mister Sterling will continue to be this season's breakout NBC Drama hit, and likely go on for a few more years minimum. Now for CBS. Queens Supreme was already yanked, which leaves 2 comedies: Charlie Lawrence + My Big Fat Greek Life. It looks as though both sitcoms will air back-to-back on Sundays, with Becker on hiatus through the month of March. MBFGL looks hit a complete bomb. This is just an attempt to cash-in on the film's success. The show will likely find success on it's debut night Mondays, but will fail to find anyone but a greek salad on Sundays. CL on the other hand looks like a madcap production that looks like it has a lot of promise. According to the press, Laurie Metcalf and Nathan Lane are hilariously funny. I'm not gonna even bother with the other networks, as they won't likely find any luck either.

I think this will be the worst year for mid-season replacements, lol. I honestly do not see any of them taking off. But, you never know.

Charlie Lawrence looks like it could be somewhat like Becker, and could even become established with Becker on Sundays when MGFGL gets cancelled.

I think Mister Sterling, and possibly Charlie Lawrence will be the only really breakout midseason replacements. My Big Fat Greek Life probably won't take off like the movie did. Making it into a series is a big mistake, IMO. The movie was great; the show won't hold a candle to it.

Mister Sterling is very good, imo. I'm not a regular watcher, but I've caught one or two episodes, the writing is good, and the actors are great. I honestly at first didn't think it would take off, because fans of Providence (I wasn't a fan) would turn their backs to it. But it took off.

AUSA looks absolutely awful. Scott Foley made a huge career mistake, lol. Watching Ellie will bomb, IMO. I don't really watch to many "new" shows, but I do try and watch a "modern" show at least once or twice before passing judgement.

Dragnet, well, until I see some ratings, can't really comment on that one. It wasn't all that bad, but they tried too hard in the first episode to be like the Dragnet of old. Ed O'Neill may be the show's saving grace. Miracles will probably get canned. Veritas may have a chance, but probably not. I watched Veritas, it wasn't all that great. Miracles was a complete bore.

I agree with you. Mister Sterling will most likely have a healthy run like The West Wing. My Big Fat Greek Life will get HUGE ratings when it debuts on that Monday, but it'll bomb on Sundays. It has nothing to do with Becker. Charlie Lawrence is gonna be the only comedy hit, ALTHOUGH Watch With Wanda has been getting some good press. Watching Ellie and AUSA will bomb though.

Dragnet came in at #1 overall, followed by Kingpin at #2, and the CBS movie at #3.

Here's a little chart:

Dragnet: 8.7/14
Kingpin: 8.3/14
Brush With Fate: 8.2/13

This means that probably both Kingpin and Dragnet will get another season, by those numbers. But it'll really depend on what happens with the next few airings. Kingpin actually won the timeslot in 18-49, with Dragnet at #2, but Dragnet won OVERALL. We will have to see, and really monitor these series. It could be a big competition. Kingpin may also be scoring, because it contains sexual content. People may have watched Dragnet just to see what it was like. We'll have to see. At the same time, Alias struggles to find her audience.

I completely forgot about Kingpin. That may last as well. Like you said, we'll probably have to see if they hold their audience, or gain, or lose their audience in the next few airings.

Dragnet will only keep these good ratings if Alias speeds up it's ratings. At this point, Dragnet will probably rank in the top 30 neilsons. Alias will be out of the top 50 for sure. Dragnet can only survive with a good lead-in, and Alias looks like a ghost in next season's line-up. Kingpin may in fact stay on, because of the sexual content that non-HBO payers crave for. Plus, it's almost exactly like The Sopranos, and free. What could be better? Kingpin looks like it has a better future than Dragnet. My advice to the Dragnet producers: Fire Embry, bring more of O'Neill, and make the show more gritty. It was like watching a carbon copy of the original show last night.

"On The Spot" seems interesting but Mindy Sterling Dweezil Zappa and Tim Conway on a show together? That's an interesting cast. We'll see....

I think Kingpin is trying to be a Sopranos wannabe. However, since it airs on regular network television, it can't possibly be as gritty.

Alias had it's second highest ever 18-49 night ever last night (not counting the Post Super Bowl episode):
ABC’s strategy to run “Alias” in the post-Super Bowl time period on the prior Sunday paid off, as it drew 11.2 million viewers and earned a 5.2 rating, 12 share among Adults 18-49. The program drew its largest audience since its season premiere (9/29/02) and equaled its best Adult 18-49 rating since the series debut episode in September 2000 (9/30/01) – tied its second-highest Adult 18-49 rating ever. The
program improved on its own season averages by 24% in Total Viewers (11.2 million vs. 9.0 million)
and by 30% in Adults 18-49 (5.2/12 vs. 4.0/9).
· The young men that sampled the “Alias” after the Super Bowl came back this week, with the spydrama posting its best rating among Men 18-49 (4.9/11) since the middle of the May sweep – best since 5/12/02. Additionally, “Alias” outperformed its average this season by 34% among Men 18-34 (4.3/11 vs. 3.2/8) and by 48% among Men 18-49 (4.9/11 vs. 3.3/7).
· During the body of the program, “Alias” increased its Total Viewers (11.1 million to 11.2 million) and held 100% if its Adult 18-49 audience (5.2/12 to 5.2/12).

As for Dragnet:
“Dragnet” debuted as the most-watched program in its time period, outdrawing NBC’s ultra-hyped premiere of “Kingpin” (13.2 million vs. 12.4 million). Also worth noting, “Dragnet” built on its lead-in by 2 million viewers (13.2 million vs. 11.2 million) and gained audience from its first half-hour to its second half-hour (13.1 million to 13.4 million). Conversely, “Kingpin” dropped 2.7 million viewers from its lead-in (12.5 million vs. 15.2 million) and lost 1/2 million viewers from beginning to end (12.7 million to 12.2 million).
· “Dragnet” improved ABC’s delivery in the hour by more than 2 million viewers (13.2 million vs. 11.1 million) and by 12% among Adults 18-49 (4.7/12 vs. 4.2/11) over its average with regular
series programming in the time period this season. Additionally, the debut produced the Net’s largest audience and best Adult 18-49 with series programming in the slot since the November
sweep – since 11/3/02 and 11/17/02, respectively.
· If Dick Wolf’s recent success with “Law & Order: CI” on Sunday and “Law & Order: SVU” on Friday is any indication, Dick Wolf’s “Dragnet” is poised for growth. On September 30, 2001, “Law & Order CI” debuted to 12.8 million viewers and a 4.5 Adult 18-49. This season the show is averaging 14.2 million viewers and a 4.8 rating in the demo. On January 8, 2000, “Law & Order: SVU” debuted to 13.7 million viewers and a 4.9 rating in Adults 18-49. Season-to-date, “SVU” is drawing an average audience of 15.1 million viewers and a 5.1 rating in the key sales demo.

Dragnet will survive. As for Kingpin, I'm not sure, but I know it will do good when the unedited versions air on Bravo next month, that's what viewers want to see really. Alias is doing better thanks to the post-Super Bowl slot. It is one of the best dramas out there, people need to watch.

One other note, I don't think Mister Sterling will be back next season, it is dropping every week in the ratings, and is doing worse than Providence, last Friday AFHV was #1 in the time-slot. ABC has scheduled two hours for AFHV again this Friday and moved the 'hyped' Michael Jackson interview on Thursday.
