Default Celebrities That Don't Care

Okay you guys help me decide...

I'm flying all the way from St. Louis to San Diego, CA to see Ellen Burstyn in a play. I called to see if I could meet her and explained how far I was traveling and that I'm seeing the show twice and that I'm a huge fan, you'd think she'd appreciate that, right? Wrong. The guy said she does not want to meet any of her fans before or after the show because she's *becoming the character* and afterwards is *too tired*. I can understand that, but keep in mind I met Bonnie Raitt at midnight and she was exhausted from her concert but she was still willing to spend time with the fans and show her appreciation. Now I'm wondering if it's worth going all the way to Cali for someone who couldn't care less. What would you do?

Well, I told ya this earlier. I wouldnt go. I mean If she doesnt give a crap about her fans then obviously she shouldnt have anyone fly halfway across the country to see her. I think waht she did was really selfish and rude, but hey, thats JMO. Do what ever you feel is right Bonnie

If a fan dosent show appreciation for you, then you shouldnt show it for them. But you never know, she may have not meant that at all. The guy who you talked to may have not wanted to bother to even ask. He may be the real reason behind that excuse.

Now you see, stuff like this pisses me off. Okay, we go see your movies, buy your cds, we like you, and whatever. Yet, you can't respect the people that like you. It's just insane.

Sorry, but the performer owes everything to the fans. Without fans, you'd be a nobody. I don't care what a person is thinking. Like if I met Madonna and she thinks I'm a loser, yet she better have a smile on her face. I buy her cds. I buy her posters. I go see her movies. Without me and all of her fans, she wouldn't be as big as she is.

I say don't even bother going to see this Ellen chick. If she can't respect the people that made her big, she don't even need to be in the business.

Just my small rant for today.

Precicely. I HATE stuck up celebs. Too tired? Say what?? It's not like she was doing heavy labor.

Same goes for sending celebs letters. Some out there are nice enough to send you something back on their own dime. Then there are the ones that send out photcopied autographs. Screw them.

Eh. If it were me, I probably wouldn't go. I mean, i dunno.

When I become famous, I swear I will never do this to my fans unless I have like an illness or something that doesnt allow me to do certain things or whatever.

Anyways, I say don't go. If she's not willing to spend time with you, then don't even bother going to see her play or whatever. Its just not worth it, in my opinion.

I think all of you are right-it's not worth it if she doesn't care. I really hate celebrities like this, that think they're beyond their fans. I forgot who said this, but you're right about the heavy labor thing. I'm not asking her to build a house, I'm asking for a few minutes to talk. The guy, though, did sound kind of rude on the phone and a PR person at the theater is going to call me tomorrow, I'll ask her and see if they have the same story. I'll see if she can tell Ellen Burstyn about me. Now if she does tell her and she still says no, then I'm gonna just forget about her and move on. Ugh life sucks...

Oh yeah, I know. I know some celebs bitch about their privacy. I can't go to McDonalds without being mobbed- blah, blah, blah. Now common sense tells me that I don't want fry grease all over what I want somebody to sign. I can wait until after they finish eating and go up to them and ask for an autograph. Yet, if I see a celeb all my common sense might fly out of my head. lol- I don't think I had that much common sense to start with. lol

I could see why somebody would complain about autograph hunters interrupting your meals. Then again, how long does it take to sign your name on something? It would save so much time instead of bitching about it to just sign your name and smile and take a pic with the fan and maybe the fan will go away.

I know that it must hurt a lot of feelings if you really like a celebrity and you run across them on the streets or in the store and they look right through you. Get the f*** away from me, I'm trying to eat my meal. I'm sure the celebrity loses many fans by having that stuck up 'My **** doesn't stink' attitude.

Yeah...you build up these people in your mind as just wonderful people, nice and considerate and all. Then you meet them and they treat you like something stuck to their shoe. Blows your mind completely.

Yeah I thought all celebrities were as nice as Bonnie Raitt...I mean she sent me a personalized autograph and all I did was send her a birthday card (not even asking for it)...why can't everyone just care about their fans and not let Hollywood go to their minds? I said it before and I'll said it again-ugh.
