Default I have two questions about two characters on this show

First question is for those of you who seen the episode "No Smoking", I wanted to know did Sherman Hemsley from the Jeffersons make a guest appearance on this episode?

Second question is what happen to the character Irene? How was she written out the show and nwhy?

Irene was played by Betty Garrett who left to become Mrs. Babish on Laverne and Shirley, (a show Archie made fun of a few times, I wonder if he recognized Irene on the show). I think Irene's last appearance was on the Thanksgiving 1975 episode when they had dinner at the Stivics'. Irene's part was dwindling and also they never showed her husband Frank because Vincent Gardenia left the show in 1974, so Irene just disappeared after that episode and was never mentioned again. We don't know if she moved away or what happened to her, within the context of the show.

I believe Sherman Hemsley did make a guest appearance in the "No Smoking" episode, since TV Tome lists him as a a guest star.

I know tv tome has it listed, I want to if someone actually seen the episode-No Smoking-so it will be confirmed. I guess after reading what the episode no smoking was about, ijust don't see why the George Jefferson character would be on that episode by hisself. So i want to know if anyone seen this episode so i will know for sure.

I assume this is the episode where Mike and Archie make a bet: for 48 hours, Archie gives up cigars and Mike gives up food. (I'm familiar with the episodes, but not their titles.) I've seen this episode and, if memory serves, Sherman Hemsley (aka George Jefferson) did NOT guest star in this episode. You're right, there's no logical reason for him to make an appearance in this one.

This may shock some of you, but tvtome occasionally makes errors, and looks like it has in this case.

Yeah. Check imdb.com, Solomon.

Wait, I'm checking. I don't see him listed.

As of Today, I'm no longer going to Tv tome because it has false information. Thanks for letting me know.,

I'm afraid I forgot who said this, but I think the case involved you and the John Amos episode of Sanford and Son. TV tome had John listed under one episode that he def. wasn't in. The person that edits the S & S section came to your post and said that people post the info. I'm not sure how this works out, but I guess anybody could post info.

Hell, I could go to the All in the Family section and post that I seen Bill Bixby in episode 22. The people that post the 'facts' prob. don't check the facts before posting. The editors of the site might not check the facts either. They might just assume that the person must know what they did see and just put the info on the site. I could just assume Bill made a guest appearance on AITF because I seen a fella that looks like him.

I wish Bill Bixby had made a guest appearance of AITF. Maybe the tvtome editors had better start checking facts more closely.

Which is why i know not to look at that info any longer. I will start looking for other episode guides.

Or maybe make it so that the editors are the only ones that can post info. Don't accept stuff from anybody else. I know that does seem bad for me to say to limit everybody from posting stuff just because a few people get info wrong, but really if you're an editor you can't really tell what is the facts.

I'm not an editor on any site. I moderate a couple of boards on this site and a couple of boards on another site. That's the only hand I have in helping the sites.

If someone asks a question on here and I don't know it, I might not post anything. I hate when you post a question and 3 or 4 people reply and they all say "I don't know". Well, I take that back. An answer like that is better than no reply at all. When I do post a reply to a person's question and I think I know the answer, but I'm not really sure. I will say 'Don't quote me on that, I'm not 100% sure.'

Anyway, I guess if you are contributing to a website you could say "I think I seen Bill Bixby on episode 22 of AITF. I'm not really sure. Maybe you could check for me and post it on the website if it is indeed him."

I just put a post in "No Smoking" under the guest star section to please delete Sherman Hemsley so we will see what happens.

I think whoever put it there meant to put it in "Mike Makes His Move" because that is the next episode and George does appear there. Also, "No Smoking" says Sherman Hemsley as (and then blank) meaning he realized his mistake and then stopped but the editor posted it anyway.

I do like the tvtome format ( I have posted several goofs and trivia there also) but wish more was done to prevent false info from being posted.
