I just have a question how can some networks/stations show movies unedited and other stations edit them so much like for example TNN shows some of there movies all the way through without any edits. But how come other channels decide to edit them up? I just am curious

Probably because it's on network television. People are so frightened of affending others in this country that it's, just, sick. The constitution doesn't mean anything.

I guess it just depends on how conservative the channel is. I never watch movies on ITV1 or ITV2 cos they always edit them waaaaaaay beyond belief.
If you wanna see a movie unedited on TV then you really need digital cable or satalite. Thankfully I have every movie channel available on digital satalite so I don't need to worry about my movies being cut. Has anyone seen the edited version of 'RoboCop'? In the UK it originally recieved an '18' certificate so I image it would've been rated 'R' in the U.S. I remember ITV1 showing an edited version of 'RoboCop' at 2 o'clock in the afternoon once. All the violence and swearing was edited out of it so the movie ended up about half it's original running-time!!! It was ridiculous!!!!! |

That's a good question. I know TNN always promoted the uncut version of the Godfather and it wasn't cut. However, instead of cutting out the nudity scenes, they just digitally blocked it out.

I like when station's edit things. B/C FX showed 'A Life Less Ordinary' starring Ewan and Cameron Diaz on Sat. and it's R normally, and I can't see R rated movies. So, I wasn't gonna be able to see it till I was like...17. But, they edited it, so I was allowed to see it...and now I'm currently stalking FX, tryin to figure out when it's coming on again b/c I loved it! And I wouldn't have seen it at all if it wasn't edited.
