We're a close family, but when it comes to that stuff... its left unsaid. They never talked about drinking, smoking, and drugs either. I never have and never will talk to my parents about sex...it's just not something they or I have ever wanted to discuss with one another.

My parents are a very straight laced Catholic couple, so they didn't talk to me about sex at all. Everything I know a lot about sex I learned at school or from friends..

Wow, that explains alot.

We aren't exactly what you'd call a 'close family', we're more on the.... 'not close' side but still. They should have talked to me about it. Luckily, I had big mouth friends at school, and I learned it all in like, first grade

Well I'm applauding you for doing so good... Keep up the good work.....

As for me... My parents didn't tell me anything. My big sis. told me and she was told by her friends but, they left alot out.

I think it is so important for parents to talk to their kids.

same thing here... I found out what sex was from a friend at school... then just growing up i learned everything else I know. My mom tried to have the "sex talk" with me.. but all i remember is her turning really really red and telling me to stay away from boys till marriage.. i had no idea what she was talkign about at the time, lol.

My parents never gave me "the talk" - I learnt everything I know from porn movies and those glib little pamphlets you get from the school nurse!
I remember my mum giving me a book on the subject when I was about 13 - it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.
I never talk about the actual act of sex with my parents. I sometimes sit and talk with my dad about women and that. Well, not in great detail cos he doesn't know I'm into women. And I only ever talk about stuff like that with him when we're both drunk cos I know he won't remember anything I've said the next day.

Nope... My moms like, "With all that stuff online, in movies, on TV and in your magazines... you most likely know more than me!"

And its not that she didn't want to talk about it... she did all that "period" info for me... it was just funny. Its like the media can teach us anything today.

But... my brother is in 5th grade and brought home a flyer the other day on how they will watch the "movie" soon.... lol. I think my dad may have to talk to him soon.

Well, my parents never came out in the open and talked about it. I just learned all that stuff from America's wonderful public schools
