Cool Shows that you've lost interest in

What shows did you like once, but lost interest in?

Frasier- I liked the show the first couple of seasons, but I lost interest after that. It had some really funny moments, but I never could understand why people thought it was so great. Personally, I think that Wings (which was created by the same people) is funnier and more enjoyable.

Mad About You- I loved it when it was on the air, but I find that I can't get into the reruns. They just don't make me laugh anymore.

I hope I don't sound like a traitor by posting a reply to this thread. I'll try to explain each choice and maybe people won't think I'm turning my back fully on the show.

The Andy Griffith Show- I said in another post that I still post on the message board, but I've kind of lost intrest in watching it. I might just take a break and then go back to it and get interested again. It's the color episodes that prob. did that. I hate the color episodes and that's when I turn the channel, but even when the rotation started over again, I didn't watch it.

Leave it to Beaver- I still post on the message board and I watch the early seasons, but I lost interest during the rest of the rotation. I turn the channel if I see a teenage Beaver.

Geez, that's the only two I can think of. I'll come back later if I think of anymore.

Mine are the following:

The Cosby Show - I watched this when it was on in the 1980s and early 1990s. I, like many shark-jumpers, lost interest with the addition of Olivia. Today I don't even bother watching the re-runs.

Full House - I used to watch this (mostly because it was on during ABC's TGIF lineup with Perfect Strangers), but not anymore. As a matter of fact, it's been at least ten years since I last saw it.

Growing Pains - I used to watch this, albeit marginally, but what turned me off was the nineties rendition of the theme song in place of B. J. Thomas' version.

Home Improvement - I always watched this show while it was on, but since its cancellation I have not caught a single rerun. (The last time I saw it was May 1999, when the finale aired.)

The Price Is Right - I used to watch this religiously, but I have slowed down. I still find myself watching when it's on while I'm getting my car serviced. The addition of prizes worth more than $2000 to the items up for bids and four-prize games (Danger Price, Race Game, and Take Two, especially) has diminished my interest. (I mean, TV sets still cost as much as they did thirty years ago!)

The Simpsons - I used to watch this show religiously, but I ultimately "did a 180". I gradually started losing interest from 1994 (the Itchy and Scratchyland episode to be specific) until 1997, when I stopped watching altogether.

Step By Step - I used to love this show when it was on, especially in the early 1990s as part of ABC's TGIF lineup. I don't even bother to watch the reruns. Personally I thought Lily was more detrimental to SBS than Cousin Oliver was to The Brady Bunch.

Wheel of Fortune - I used to love this show, but all the changes they did (giving R, S, T, L, N, and E in the final puzzle; new board where Vanna touches the letters instead of turn the displays; adding $1000 to the letter value during the "speed round" at the end before the final puzzle; $3000 speedy puzzle to start out the night; abandoning the "egg crate" displays for the scores in favor of something more computerized (to the point of superimposed!); increase of the $200 house limit for round winners; etc.) drove me away. Like they say, if it isn't broke, don't fix it!

Also worth mentioning are the cartoons like Tom and Jerry (although I have enjoyed visiting various fan pages out there!) and the assorted Warner Brothers cartoons like Bugs Bunny and the Road Runner. I used to watch them religiously when I was a kid, but I lost interest. I still prefer them to The Simpsons, tho'.

We should start a thread on shows we've GAINED interest in... I'll add a show here that I've gained interest in before we start a thread for that.

I Love Lucy I still 'love' I Love Lucy, but once it left Nick @ Nite and popped up on TV Land, I honestly have not watched it since. I did watch the Christmas special aired during the Merry-Thon, but I haven't watched it since 2001. Honestly, I don't miss it, LOL. I have the DVDs, but I bought those in August of 2002. I guess you can count that as watching, lol, but overall, I just don't find myself really rushing to watch an episode like I used to.

Bewitched & I Dream of Jeannie Since both usually air together, or are similar, I'll add both of these together. I love them, but like I Love Lucy, I really haven't gotten in to them for a very long time. I dunno why, I just got tired of them.

The Golden Girls I've seen every episode about 100 times, and I just don't rush to watch anymore. I still enjoy watching, but have been finding myself watching less and less.

Basically, I'm finding myself watching less and less TV these days, classic or 'modern.'

The Cosby Show, Full House, and others, I watched almost religiously when they first came to TBS (same with Roseanne) but now I've seen almost every episode, you just get tired of it, you know.

LOL, There are a LOT more shows I guess, but I'll just leave it at that, since most of you probably know what I'm talking about.

I go in phases, I'll get into a show and watch it to death and then put it on the back burner for awhile and then begin watching it again. Don't get me wrong, these are my favorite sitcoms, I just got tired of them from so much watching, give them a break and return to them when I feel like it:

The Brady Bunch -seen every episode at least 10 times, stopped watching back in the mid 90's, but now that it's on TV Land, I watch it every day

The Golden Girls -seen every episode at least 10 times as well, stopped watching regularly in a couple years ago, but have since started watching again

The Jeffersons -became obsessed with back in 1999, when it came to Nick at Nite, after seeing almost every episode (except The Strays Part 2) I've given it a rest, but with the second season coming on DVD, it won't be resting long

Good Times -In the summer of 2001, really began watching this show, taping it daily off of TBS. Seen every episode (except The Traveling Christmas). Currently at rest, but with the 1st season coming on DVD, most likely a short one

Leave It to Beaver -recently became obsessed with and seen every episode on TV Land. Currently Beavered out and giving it a rest.

The Cosby Show -became a staple every afternoon, but now rarely watch it due to overexposure. It's everywhere and just too much.

SHOWS THAT I NEVER WATCH ANYMORE:

Full House -Can't believe I ever watched this trash to begin with

SHOWS CURRENTLY WATCHING REGULARLY:

Sanford & Son
What's Happening!! -Thanks to taped epsiodes
Mr. Belvedere -Thanks to taped episodes
Everybody Loves Raymond
The Brady Bunch

SHOWS I WOULD LIKE TO WATCH REGULARLY:

One Day at a Time
The Hogan Family -once watched regularly but not on anymore
It's a Living -once watched regularly but not on anymore
Who's the Boss? -bad timeslot prevents watching

I completely agree with that, and that was basically what I was trying to get across in my post. LOL.

I left out one show that I've found myself watching MORE of than before.

The Nanny : Since it came to Lifetime, I've been tending to find myself watching it so much more than I ever did before. Sure, "the voice" is tiring, but you just have to overlook it, and it sometimes adds to the comedy of the series.

I just have so many different tastes, but every so often, like boechsner, I tend to get into a show heavily, and then drop it, and then pick it up again. But, once you see a show numerous times, it's time to give it a rest, lol.

I Love Lucy- I have lost some interest in the show but not all. I still love the show a lot and all but the show just doesn't give me the special feeling that it once did when I first watched in 1997. (1997 was the year I truly became a die-hard fan). I still watch it every week although. The show can get addictive.

The Lucy Show- I have lost a little bit of interest in the show. I have seen each episode at least four times already since year 2000.

The Brady Bunch- Ever since Nick at Nite took off the show in their prime-time schedule - I have lost some interest. I still watch it every now and then but not like the way I use to.

The Munsters- The show doesn't interest me like it used to. I still watch it every now and then though. It's a great show.

The Jeffersons- I began loosing interest in this sitcom when Nick at Nite started airing it in the wee hours of the morning.

The Drew Carey Show-I think this show is overdue for a cancellation. I don't even find the reruns funny anymore.

The Jeffersons-I've seen almost every episode and grew tired of it. I still like it though.

Just Shoot Me-When this show first came to syndication, I loved it. Now, however,it's gotten stale and unfunny to me.

Coach-I used to watch this show religously when it aired on ABC. Now that it is in reruns, I really can't get back into it for some reason.

I Love Lucy- I gotta be in the right mood to watch it anymore, and I'm not usually in that mood. It's at the point where there are certain episodes I just HATE.

I Dream of Jeannie- When it came to Hallmark, I just didn't want to watch it.

Full House- It's one of those that I can watch for awhile, then can't, then can, etc.

Saved by the Bell- Probably because it's not on at any decent times. And the last couple seasons SUCKED!!!

The Nanny- I used to watch it all the time on CBS, but now...don't wanna.

Of the current shows on the dial...

"Drew Carey" Like Brian said, overdue for cancellation, and since they've exiled it to Friday nights, I've completely forgotten about it.
"Everybody Loves Raymond" This show has gotten really redundant. How many times can Ray screw up before Deborah finally divorces him?
"Will And Grace" I still enjoy this show, but they're in a bit of a rut too. If I miss an episode, I won't lose any sleep.
"The Simpsons" Same as above.
"Malcom In The Middle" I really enjoyed this show when it premiered, but since the kids are now bigger than the parents, it's just looks silly sometimes.

Now at the risk of offending the Carbys and Lubys among us, my final choice is...

"E.R." Things are not the same now that Greene is resting in peace.

Current shows that I don't bother to catch anymore:

Fraiser (just have no interest anymore)

Friends (milk does a body good, but milking a show does no good for discerning viewers)

Becker (though I'll be back with football over)

Just Shoot Me (was this once good? I forget)

Drew Carey (apparently these people need paychecks, because they are lost)
