Hi All!

I found this snippet on a site and thought you would find it interesting.....

Freddie Prinze Jr. is directing his agent to get him his own TV show. His shot on "Friends" apparently convinced him that is the way to go. He says, "'Friends' was a pretty sweet gig. I don't know what I've been doing the last seven years making stupid movies. I'm pretty much done making movies and I'm going to get a show. This is the coolest, greatest job that I've ever had. I look at what these guys and girls get to do every week and literally, I'm in awe."

Well if Freddie Jr. wants his own show he has to realize that it is tough and you can't have babies and not show up to the job. He said once that he wants to be a father and he'll shuck the movie career. He said (I don't need the money).

Whatever he wants to do is fine with me............

I hope he realizes that his Father made it look easy but I am sure a sitcom is not always the sweet gig it appears, perhaps he should speak to his Grandmother and get the straight scoop on things, I'm sure if his father were here he would want to advise him but he cannot be so Grandma who was with him through all of it may be able to offer some help.

HELLO...WAKE UP JUNIOR! I am sorry but this boy, handsome as he may be, does not have a fraction of his dads talent. Does he have ANY idea how many sitcoms fail EVERY year? The average Joe just cant pull it off.....and with his limited acting abilities.....he is lucky he has had the success he did with movies......He better play it safe with the movies...alll the young girls go nuts for him....he is a hottie!

I agree with ya TM. If he does a sitcom, I'll watch but he has to remember how hard it was for his dad...

I think Jr has it,but he hasn't used it yet...Has anyone seen Scooby Doo??? There was one scene where I actually had to look at the screen and make sure it wasn't his DAD..So please ppl, give him a chance..Maybe one day he will make us laugh too.

Here is an aritcle I found on the internet on Jr that mentions Freddie Sr:

FREDDIE Prinze Jr. visits his tragic dad's grave regularly for heart-to-heart
talks, claims a new book.

The She's All That hunk was just a baby in 1977 when his dad -- the star of the
hit sitcom Chico and the Man -- committed suicide, so he never got a chance to
talk face to face with him.

But after young Freddie landed his first acting job -- a four-line role on the
sitcom Family Matters -- he made a beeline to his dad's Los Angeles grave, says
Marc Shapiro, author of Freddie Prinze Jr.: The Unofficial Biography.

"I put my hand on his plaque,'' recalls Prinze, 23. "I said, 'Thank you. I hope
you're watching now. I hope I'm making you proud.'"

Shapiro writes: "Freddie has made many trips to his father's grave in the
ensuing years, forming a loving, emotional bond.

"During those visits, (he) would regale his father's tombstone with the great
things that were happening to him and how much he loved and missed him. And how
much he had learned from him, even though he never really knew him in life."

Freddie says: "I never knew my father in the real sense of the word, but as
I've grown older, I've learned how to communicate with him.

"I had a lot of questions that needed to be answered. I was inspired to want to
succeed and do well. During those times I get in touch with him in my mind.

"He's made it clear to me that the road I've chosen is going to take a lot of
work, but he told me, 'Don't worry -- I'll be there for you.'"

Young Freddie, who first drew raves playing the punk boyfriend of Claire Danes
in To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday in 1996 and shot to stardom earlier this
year with the high school comedy She's All That, says his dad taught him "the
greatest lesson in life -- to make sure the people around you feel loved.

"That's something he wouldn't have been able to teach me if he were alive. So I
owe him one."

Freddie was 11 when he learned the truth about his father's death -- how he had
been unable to handle his sudden success and entered a downward spiral of drugs
and alcohol until he picked up a gun and shot himself.

Before his death, the one bright spot in his life was his baby. When Freddie
was born, the troubled but overjoyed pop told his wife: "I don't have to feel
lonely anymore."

Freddie says: "My mother told me about how much he loved me and the way his
face would light up when he held me."

It's in homage to his dad that the young actor firmly resisted suggestions that
he change his name.

Agents told me it would be easier if I avoided comparisons with my father," he
says. "But I told them that my name was something my father wanted to give me
-- and he wasn't able to give me a lot."

Now Freddie, who lives with former General Hospital actress Kimberly
McCullough, is longing to be a dad himself.

"I know one day I'm going to be the best father in the world. Not having a
father makes me want to be a great one. I have so much love I want to give."

I had read that article too I believe it was in the Us magazine a while back, it's a great very emotional article I also appreciated the way he spoke of his dad in the Bio of his own life very nicely done.
I only have to wishes tho, !) since his own mother and Grandmother were able to prove that Freddie's death was not a suicide but an accident do to the drugs and had the ruling changed I wish Jr would inform people of that in these interviews instead of allowing it to be continually referred to as a suicide.

2) And of coarse i still and always will wish that anaother way he could pay homage to his Father by visiting gis paternal Grandmother and sharing his life with her. there is so much he can learn from her.
But I did enjoy the article, much more so than the ones where he constantly says I never knew my dad, you can't miss what you never had....

I'm sure when Jr. goes to his Dad's grave that it is peaceful for him. When noone understands him he knows his dad always does.

I wish too that Jr. would see his paternal grandmother but, I'm wondering if his mother or someone else said things to him about Maria as a young child growing up. For him to forget her like that I just feel something is wrong there.
