do start, search, type defrag, double click on the thing that says 'defragmenting' or something like that

it reorganizes and compacts the files on your comp, or so i am told.

Defragging your comp Can take up to 12 hours or so, If you've never done it, So if you try that Dawsongirl, Make sure you have time to do it

Meangya, once it took like 3 days b/c it was all messed up. Ugh, was that ever annoying LOl. No computer for 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Erasing everything and starting over is probably him reformatting the harddrive,

I defrag weekly. It only takes an hour or less. I scan disk weekly also, though usually only a standard scan. When I do a thorough scan disk that takes several hours.

I heard it was bad for the computer if you defrag too often. Is that true, or just a mistake?
