Last nights episode when Edith almost gets raped made me cry. It was so shockig and even though she played the part well everytime she crys i cy.

Yeah, that episode was def. a sad one. The actors and everything were terrific in their roles.

Another episode that I get emotional about is when Gloria and Mike says their goodbyes to Archie and Edith when they were moving to California and they were going out the door and they hugged each other!!! Afterwards, Archie said, "We're all alone now, Edith" and they both got very emotionial!!!

Oh yeah, I always cry at the end of that episode. Never fails, I always cry.

Yeah, that is another crying episode for me too. Another ep would be when Archie gets addicted to some kind of medication, the ep when Julio from Sanford and Son appears and he dies at the end of the ep because a bomb was inside the car (I'm having a brain fart. Can't think of his real name.) , the episode where that man that invents the doorbell ringer controller dies on the Bunker's couch.

I remember watching the episode "Mike and Gloria Go West" when it first aired; my whole family was passing around the tissues. It still has just as much impact on me today as it did then.

BTW -
The guy killed by a car bomb is Gregory Sierra. He also played Chano in the 1st (and 2nd?) season of Barney Miller.

The man who invented the remote-controlled doorbell ringer was Jack Gilford, perhaps better known as the man in the "Cracker Jack" commercials.

Edith's 50th Birthday wiped me out. This show was very well done. It won a few Emmys, and I'm not surprised. The attempted rape scene was put together brilliantly...at first blending horror and comedy as when she tells him she's old and tries to make silly small talk.
Once it took a dark turn, that was it...the laughs ended there. It was very emotional when Edith asked him, "Can we do this without kissing?"
When she threw that hot cake in his face and ran out the door, the audience went wild. I can't recall such a long cheer. I wonder if anyone keeps records of such things.
I know on The Dick Van Dyke Show, there's a scene that got the longest laugh of the serie's run.
Part 2 was even more emotional. Edith's withdrawal from the outside world and her frightened state was hard to watch. People love Edith which explains the cheering and screaming when she escaped her attacker.
I cried a lot during the show. I had seen it about 15 years ago, but it still packs quite an emotional punch.

Part 2 of Edith's 50th birthday was a tearjerker. I was quite worked up emotionally from that episode.

Any tender moments with Archie and Gloria brought me to tears especially when Archie came in the room to comfort Gloria after her miscarriage. That was a powerful scene. Another one that stood out was when Mike ran out after she got pregnant. She sat on Archie's lap and that was one of the most tender moments that was displayed. That was a tearjerker of all. Sally Struthers stated in interviews that she enjoyed those scenes because Carroll O'Connor was like a father to her.
