Has anyone ever heard Andy Griffith when he did radio show performances??? I just found a tape of them at the library and checked it out. It's got when he explains how American was founded. How retold Romeo and Juliet.
And.... my all time favorite. What it was was football. I'm going to have to record everything before I return it. Jen |

He didn't technically have a radio show. He did guest appearances on them during the beginning of his career.

Ooh, I've got a cd of his performances. It's called "What it is...is Andy Griffith". I think that's the name of it. I think I bought it from Time Life. You might want to check out Time Life's website if you want to buy it. It's a 2 cd set.

My dad used to have 'What it Was Was Football' on a 45 record. I used to listen to it over and over when I was around 4 or 5 years old.

yea, I've heard his monologes on the radio and stuff, & I've seen clips of him performing them on TV in the 50s. You're right, they are funny!
Ecspessialy (SP?)that one that was mentioned, "What it was, was football".He did his "Romeo & Juliet" one on the show, once-it was when he was telling Opie, or someone, about them. |

Andy told told numerous stories via the radio, which helped him with his long career. I have a CD titled Laugh with Andy Griffith the ISBN #0-7694-046609. Use that number should you choose to help you obrtain a copy of the CD.
Comedy Routines include: Swan Lake, The Preacher and the Bear (as told by Andy), Conversations With a Mule, The Discovery of America and the All-Time Favorite ....What It Was, Was Football. Y'all Take Care |
