Smile What do you think?

I think that making a show called Gilligan's Island: The Next Generation would be a good idea! It would be about their children! Could the popular ones (you know who you are) please reply?

hmmmm. In some ways it would be good. In other ways it wouldn't. What if they got a crappy cast? Everyone would hate it! What if they were bad actors. The storyline might be totally different and they might totally mess it up. On the other hand if they could get good actors like, Mara Wilson (Maryann), maybe Mary-kate or AShley olsen as Ginger, and so on then it would be awesome! They would have to have the right writer too though. get what I'm saying? But great idea!

Well if that ain't one heckuva note... What is with you and popular people? That's like, the third time you've specified about replies being from popular people that I've seen! What makes you think non-popular people don't have good ideas?

"Well, Laverne is sort of childish"

"Childish? Childish? COming from a grown woman who throws tea parties for her stuffed cat!"

"Well at least I don't sew L's on everything I wear!"

"Well that would be pretty stupid considering your name's Shirley!"

Suppose that the original cast and crew of Gilligan' Island had instead tried to do "Make Room for Daddy II" or something. Would that have been cool? Gilligan's Island worked because it was so original. People today should be trying their own original ideas. Copying the past never seems to work.

I can think of a few reasons to NOT attempt such a show; "The Munsters Today", "The New Monkees", and "The New Adams Family".

However, *IF* I where forced to write a pilot episode for it, it would go a little something like this...

It would be called "Gilligan's Children",a dn it would star Bob Denver and Dawn Welles (since they seem to be the only two surviving cast members who would be willing to do it). Seems that after being rescued and having turned the island into a resort (see the previous television movies), Gilligan is put in charge of the island's daycare program. MaryAnne lives on the island as well, and is constantly hanging out with Gilligan because, over the years, she has developed a huge crush on him. Gilligan, of course, is oblivious to this.

One day, Gilligan and MaryAnne take the kids out on a tour boat for a "3 hour tour", and the weather strats getting rough. The tiny ship is tossed. And if not for the courage of Gilligan and MaryAnne, the tourboat would be lost!

They end up stranded on yet ANOTHER uncharted desert isle, but this time they have a cast of wacky kids that are strangely familliar to Gilligan and MaryAnne:

THE TWINS: 2 girls who are exceptionally smart, but can't adjust to life without their lap-tops! Many episodes will focus on them learning how to do all sorts of things without any electronic aid.

TAD WORTHINGTON: The spoiled child of rich parents, he thinks he's better than everyone because he's rich. He also enjoys playing cruel tricks on anyone he can in order to make them look foolish. Some episodes will feature him learning valuable lessons about how people should treat eachother.

DENNIS: An ethnic child (either African American or Hispanic) to make sure that the NAACP doesn't accuse us of racial innequality. Dennis comes from "The Streets", and really enjoys being on the island. He teaches everyone lessons about how to appreciate nature. At least one episode will show him sabotaging an attempt to get off the island, becuase he never wants to go back to the city.

WADE: Will be the same ethnicity as Dennis, but a completely different character. He's a kid from a fairly wealthy family, and he always wears sweater vests and glasses. He is very nice , and everyone likes him, but he has no backbone. He does whatever anyone tells him to do. Expect an episode where he learns how to stand up for himslef, and also an episode where he and Dennis have some sort of racial argument.

AMY: Is an Asian girl, who is just perfect in every way. Not snobby-perfect, but just the level-headed type of girl who everyone likes and gets along with perfectly. Usually she will become the leader of the group whenever a disaster strikes.

Well, there ya go! That's how I'd do it, at least. Any comments?

Gillagan nut, no offence or anything, but I think your wrong about no one being able to replace gilligan, Theirs a boy that was in my class and hes a pretty good actor, he got the lead part in our school play, and He would make a perfect gilligan.
