Exclamation What I'll never figure out.....

I'll never figure out what in the world was a millionare and his wife were doing on a cheap, small and low class ship, Why didn't The Howell's just take out one of their high class ships? And a movie star!!?? Ginger must of REALLY been in a movie slump to take a cruise with a farm girl, Mary Ann. Oh, and the baggage... I'm beginning to think they were all psycics...knowing they would be trapped for more then 15 years (according to "Rescue From Gilligan's Island) but then why would they take the cruise in the first place if they knew that? Just a few things that seem strange.....

I posted the answer to this exact question quite some time ago! Let me see if I can find it... Ahh, Here we go!

Ginger was a "Paid Escort" for Mr. Howel. Seems he was a dirty old man, and since Mrs. Howel was busy in her affair with the Professor, he had taken to purchasing the company of young Hollywood starlets. Why else would Ginger have been on the Minnow with the rest of the castaways?
You have to remember... each of them had a reason for being on that boat! A deep, dark, secret reason.

GILLIGAN: Was living under the name "Maynard G. Krebs" until he accidentaly murdered his friend Dobbie Gillis, figured to hide from the law under an assumed name.

SKIPPER: Dishonorably discharged from the Navy, now his only way to make money is run drugs for the Mafia while maintaining the facade of a "3 hour tour".

MR. HOWEL: Billionaire dirty old man, looking for a cheap and private place to take his escort, behind his wifes back.

MRS. HOWEL: Booked a seat on the 3 hour tour on the advice of her private investigator, so she could gather the evidence against her husband for the upcoming divorce.

GINGER: Down-on-her-luck starlet, resorted to being a paid escort for dirty old men. It was either this, or go into pornography.

PROFESSOR: Mrs. Howel's lover and constant companion. Wherever she goes, he follows.

MARYANNE: The only innocent in the group... she was actually a tourist who just wanted to go and see the islands.

...I mean, C'mon... I though EVERYONE knew this stuff!

Hey, Hey, hey!
I thught you said that Maynard acciedently killed a guy who just looked like Dobie Gillis.
if he did kill dobie not only would he have to worry about the law but also he had to worry about Dobie's father.
I gotta kill that boy! I just gotta!
