Default Which character do you think should've had their own spinoff?

The question says it all. You can say any Ally McBeal cast member. For the Billy fans out there, you could explain how they could've given him a spinoff if the show hadn't killed him off.

My answer is either John or Richard. I think they had the most character appeal to them. I like most of the other cast members, but John and Richard just had this likeability that would've made a good spinoff.

Well the problem with John or Richard is that if you had Richard you would need John as they were a comedy duo and had most of their scenes together also note that Richard married Liza in the finale so possibly a show with Richard and Liza married with John tagging along.I actually have this as a fan fiction series over on the General Fan Fiction board.

Glad to have you on the Ally board, Sitcomwriter.

I admit you do have a point. I've seen it with other shows that have 2 characters that work with each other to set up a scene to make it hilarious. When one of the characters leave or get involved in a spinoff and the other one isn't there, chances are it won't be as funny.

When I get the time, I'll read your fan fic, Sitcomwriter.

They should have given Elaine her own show. Spin her off by using the Broadway angle. Have her quit her job at the firm and move to New York and make a go at it.

Then you could have her room with younger girls. could have been interesting.

I like that idea. I think Elaine could pull the show off. Maybe Ling could be another spinoff character.

I think a spinoff with John and Richard would work. They could move to a warmer climate than Boston (I live here), and set up a law firm that deals with family law, divorce, custody issues, that sort of thing.
Richard would be the playboy of course, while John would be the more more grounded, albeit eccentric, character.
Former cast members from Ally McBeal could make guest appearances.
They were quite a funny duo together, and they're both very talented.

Is that because of her big assets....meaning her talent and beautiful face?

Thumbs down RE: Spinoff....

No one.... I think they are smart to leave it alone...Not everything has to have a spinoff to it...Lots of them don't work, and it's not the same....
So my vote would be noone..... JMO

Richard and John would have been great in a show of their own. After awhile they were the only reasons I watched.

Well, with Calista on Brothers and Sisters and Jane on 30 Rock, and Peter in some show on CBS (the name escapes me) I would have to say none because those were my favorite characters.
