Red face Don't you hate it when you go thru the alarms at a store they go off?

I hate that!

I don't steal but whenever in some cases I go exit the store the alarms go off and I gotta wait for a damn employee to show up to look at the items I bought. it mostly does it at Wal-Mart!!!!!!!!!

I hate that don't u?

I use to be a security guard at this store called Caldor(which was very similar to KMart) I use to hate when the damn alarms use to go off. Sure there were some shop lifters, but most of the time the cashiers simply forgot to take tags off.

By the way, here's a little nugget. If a security guard tells you to stop after an alarm goes off, you really don't have to legally. Security are not cops and by law cannot forcibly stop you. That's against the law. I'm not saying to do that, but that's the truth.

I loved Caldor's. They had the best housewares department. I loved Bradless too, but they both went bellyup. I didn't shop for clothes at these stores, but I did for a lot of other things.
I hate when the clerk doesn't take the security tag off when you're buying something.
Nine out of 10 times, you can get out of the store without the alarm going off, but it ALWAYS goes off when you bring it back to have the tag removed. This happens at Filene's all the time.
Once, I was going to a big party and didn't discover the security tag on my new dress until I was putting it on. I wanted to scream. In fact, I think I did.
Thanks for the tip Brian. It's good to know I can flip the bird to the next Barney Fife who just tries to stop me.

Oooooooo... Caldor! I liked that store. Much better than K-Mart. And yes it is annoying. Those things dont work very good either. I put a candy bar in my pocket once (on accident) and it didnt go off.

I hate that when that happens. 6 or 7 years ago I was shopping with my mom and I was buying a C.D. and I was trying to get her attention and she just happened to be staring off into space at the time. Then, I accidentally stepped over the line out of the store and I was holding the C.D. and the alarm went off. Even though I knew I wasn't stealing I felt embarrassed. Of course, my mom's attention span returned the minute the alarms went off.

I Stop anyway, A Few years ago at Wal Mart My Mom and i were in the parking lot putting our bags in the car trunk when the alarm goes off and some guy walks out, Than 2 security guard run at him and attack him. I Swear, One of them beat the crap out of the guy until his nose was bleeding, And it turns out the alarm going off was just a mistake. This was somewhere in Lower Maine (Dont remember if it was Bangor or Portland) and i think i heard the guy sued Wal Mart for it. So Yeah, I Stop Anyway so i dont get attacked

I hear ya. Trust me I've worked in security with a couple of people who actually thought they were the law because they were a guard.

OMG

Thanks for mentioning Caldor!

I have been trying for years thinking of what store I went into in Delaware! I always thought it was Condor lol.

I did go into one of them when I was an age range from 10-13 and it was in mid january on our way to philadelphia. We ate at their food court! It was awesome I remember what I had even! I didn't take pics or map out the store cuz i wasn't "crazed into" stores yet. I don't know if it had alarms either. I don't know the PINPOINT town of where it was but it was in delaware. I remember that the electronics were in the back and I can picture that Taz Mania game for the SNES on the wall priced at 19.99........strange. I only remember such things. Yes they did have alarms cuz i remember the doors because they looked weird because they were automatic and it was an OUT / IN / OUT doors in that order on both sides!
