Our prom was last year. And no, I didnt have a date.

It was the worst night of my life. 12 years of anticipation... sabotaged.

We don't have junior prom and I'm not going with any seniors so I have to wait until next year.

Yah. See, I feel weird about it. When I think about it I get sick, but if I had to go through all that all over again... I would. Id rather have the ****tiest time, then to not go at all.

LOl

o0o yes hehe. Gather round now children, and let me tell you the story about the princess!! 0o0o...ahhh.

Ok. Well, all year Amanda didnt want to go to the prom- she thought it was stupid. So, all year I talked her into it. LOl. At first, she had a date, but then that fell through, so we decided just to go as friends and have fun. Hmm.. lets see. I decided to make my own prom dress. But, I didnt make it, my friend did (who also made hers...which came out PERFECTLY). Everything was going great until about 1 week before the prom. It was a strapless and around my boobs it was really loose-- I didnt want it fallen down! So she tightened it. Oops, too tight. Once you cut material you cant go back. We tried everything- ductaping myself (which I dont recommend if you like your skin), bras, those body huggers, nothing worked. Well, the zipper was on the right side under my arm (itd show if it was in the back), and sometimes it wouldnt zip up right. All week me and my mother looked for bras. Ugh. I finally found one that worked.
Now its the day of the prom. My hairs done, nails, makeup. Now its just time for the dress. OMG! It wont zip up. We tried for 20 minutes and Im getting REALLY frustrated. So, we head on over to Amandas where her family is taking pics. I go in and they look @ it on me. Her aunt notices that the zipper wasnt sewn right-- the teeth dont match up!! No wonder why it wouldnt zip. Yah... she had to sew it with fishing line to get it to stay. At the prom, it was boring. Amanda was blowing chunks because she had a migraine. She didnt dance at all-- her head was glued to the table. Some people thought she was drunk. And, since shes my best friend, I decided to sit there with her a while. I danced for a total of like, 20 minutes? throughout the whole 5 hours. I was dancing to one song.. and yes, I step on my dress, flashing everyone @ tables 1-5 and everyone else @ the little coke bar. You know, Im glad it was tight.. if it wasnt, I wouldnt have needed a bra!! Then, later on, one of my friends noticed my dress had ripped in the back!!!!! OMG.. I was so pissed. My friend who made it just kinda laughed and was like.. Whatd you do?!? WTF-- like it was my fault?!?! The prom was done and it was time for the after prom. On the ride down Amanda was pissed and still wasnt feeling too well. But, we went anyways. We waited for 2 hrs to see this palm reader. But, as Im sitting on the floor.. my back begins to give out. From then on if I moved even the slightest, a big shock of pain would run through my body. Later on, I get lightheaded and hot. I feel sick, but I never really felt this way before- I wasnt nauscious or anything. At 4am it was time for the hypnotist. We had front row. The entire time my head was in my hands because I felt like such ****. The only thing stopping me from calling my mother to pick me up was the money raffle they had @ 5am-- that was the only thing keeping me there. Needless to say, I didnt win any money. I knew that if I had, I wouldnt have shown any excitement or anything because I just felt so sick. After, we go outside and decide to wait for my mother. I wait outside, where its pouring out because Im so sick. Amanda's calling me from the lil deck saying Im crazy to be outside like that LOl. After about 15 minutes my mother comes. I sit in the backseat to relax. The entire ride home my head is in my hands and Im bawling my eyes out quietly. That was the first time I really cried since 5th grade. I dont know what made me cry so hard. Me being sick? PMS? Or, could it be the fact that I waited 12 friggan years for this... and this is what it was all about. What a waste of money.

Even though it was that bad of a night, I dont regret going.

I asked this kid who I liked (a junior) to go with me. He said no.. and I kept asking him why. He said that hes not into proms. What a load of crap. I mean, ya guys arent usually are.. but he has no idea how that made me feel! Thats the first time I ever asked a guy out.. and I was rejected, in front of some of his friends. OMG I want to die!

Wow, that's a bummer Crystal. But like they say, good or bad, it's the prom so you'll remember it forever.
