I was browsing Entertainment Tonight's homepage and I seen this article. I thought I'd post it here for all the Robert fans.
ROBERT DOWNEY, JR.'S RETURN January 15, 2003 | ROBERT DOWNEY, JR. is returning to the big screen with pal MEL GIBSON in the psychological drama/musical, 'The Singing Detective.' Downey Jr., who is working on a comeback following a string of drug related run-ins with the law, plays a bedridden crime novelist whose inner demons have gotten the best of him. Gibson, who also produced the movie, plays his eccentric psychiatrist. ROBIN WRIGHT PENN and KATIE HOLMES have roles in the flick as well. The movie is getting its unveiling at the Sundance Film Festival this Friday in Park City, Utah. http://www.etonline.com/newslink/index.htm#z |

This is good news for Robert Downey Jr. The Singing Detective certainly has some big names involved in it. I hope he stays clean and has a successful comeback.
He's very talented. |

![]() I hope he stays clean, too. I think maybe he realizes what he has and if he falls off the wagon one more time, it might end some of the things he is so fortunate to have. I'm rooting for him to stay clean. |

I also heard a rumor that Downey may play the villian in the next "Mad Max" sequel. Apparently, his bud Mel Gibson is trying to get him the part.
Personally, I'm getting weary of Downey's next "return." The guy has had more combacks then Jason in the "Friday the 13th" movies. Not to say that I don't think he's talented. He revived "Ally McBeal," a show that probably would have still been on the air if he hadn't been kicked off... |

That David E. Kelly is a pretty smart guy. I'm sure most people would've let the show stay on and on and milk it for all it's worth. Wasn't it David that pulled the plug on the show? It's unfortunate his new show wasn't a hit. What was the name of that show? Was it girls club? Did anybody watch that show? |

I think Kelly pulled the plug on Ally McBeal. I think he realized they were running on empty. I think Downey's well publicised ouster from the show helped with his decision to kill the show. |

Like I said, Downey was holding them up there for awhile. I just didn't buy into the other new cast members they were introducing. I think they added a character named Jenny and 3 or either 4 other people. That's always a bad sign to me. If they had stayed around for a few more years, they probably would've lost the rest of the original cast members and Nell too. |

Once upon a time, there were three little girls who wanted to be lawyers in a big law firm. There was the sexy blonde one, the tough but sexy brunette one, and the other sexy one. They handled the law on "their own terms" and to make things even more fun, they lived together, so we could see them be sexy when they weren't being lawyers! But before there could actually be any real character development, FOX noticed that the critics and the audience didn't give a rat's rear, so the show was cancelled after two episodes! Ouch. Looks like everything that David E touches doesn;t turn to gold...
