What is the professor's name on the show

The character name for the Professor was Roy Hinkley...found that answer within this website....

Wow I didnt realise that!!

So his name was Professor Roy.... Why didnt they ever say his name???

I have another question........

Does anyone ever remember an episode where someoine just sailed in on the island??? (Visitors)

Why didnt they all leave the island together??

The first episode has the radio announcer introducing the characters by name while reporting the S.S. Minnow lost at sea.

The Castaways did leave the island briefly with Dr. Boris Balinkoff (Vito Scotti) but, for reasons, ended up stranded again.

Plenty of guests made it to the island but the show would have been over if The Castaways ever got to leave-- it would spoil the situation in Situation Comedy.

Unrelated, but my big question is how did anyone sleep on the island when, as revealed in the episode, Up At Bat, the usual night temperature hovered around 96°F? Talk about night sweats.. Geez!

I dont know if I could make it,I would somehow have to get off that island!!
