Default Fred`s truck

Does anyone know the make/ model/ year of Fred`s truck? I remember on the old sanfordandson.com (when it was going), it said on the board that there was 2 different trucks used. All I remember is that one (only) was a Ford, and one was from the 50s and the other early 60s. I tried the archives for that site, and came up with that new crap. Too bad, that was a cool site.

There were two trucks used during the series run. The first one was a red 1962 Ford pickup. The second was a 1947 Mercury M-47.

It was a 1951 Ford F-1 and a 1947 Mercury M-47!

I noticed in the opening credits, just when Lamont pulls into the junkyard and waves at Fred, sometimes the passenger window seal is hanging down and sometimes it is not. I always wondered why that was and now I know.
