Default Larry's nervous tick?

Has anyone else ever noticed that when Larry either becomes anxious or nervous that he batted his eyes a lot? If you havent pay attention when Larry is trying to talk Beaver into something or if he is listening to someone he does it often. Just an observation.

Beaver himself has a habit of squinting all the time. When you see Jerry Mathers now, he has a deep dent in his skin in the middle of his forhead (vertically), and I'm pretty sure its because he's been squinting all his life.

Wally has a nervous habit too. Every time he has to go talk to Ward or is in some other stressful situation with girls or something, he rubs his fingers under his nose. I wonder if the actors had these same nervous habits in real life or just used them as part of their character?

I'm pretty sure Wally's habit was scripted. He also brushes his hand against his head sometimes.

Yeah, I've been noticing Larry's little nervous tick with his eyes. I wonder if Rusty Stevens does that or did they just write it in for Larry to do?
I think it's cute, and sometimes annoying when Wally rubs his nose.

I agree with the above poster that said that they thought Wally's tick was scripted. He also says "Um" alot when talking to Ward and June.

He also does it a few times on The New Leave it to Beaver. Nonetheless, I still believe that this trait was scripted, because it was just SO obvious, like a running joke. If it was a natural trait of Tony Dow's, I think the producers probably wrote it in the script because they thought it was funny.

Another thing that Jerry Mathers did was nod his head up and down when he talks sometimes, especially when he was younger. I thought it was pretty cute, except in the Leave it to Beaver movie you could tell they made that actor do it excessively, and also in NLITB, I think they told the girl who plays Kelly to do it as well, and it again seemed over the top.

I've noticed How Larry bats his eyes alot. I guess all of us here pay alot of attention to the LITB charactors I've also noticed one of Wallys habits when ever he's talking to a girl and he runs out of things to say he itches or rubbs the back of his neck I really started to notice this is "Wallys pug nose" when hes talking to Gloria Cusick.
