The Simpsons will get a surprise visit for their 300th show from old neighbors on the Fox schedule -- the Bundys.
Fox will air a one-hour "Married ... with Children" reunion special Feb. 16, the night "The Simpsons" marks its 300th episode milestone. The first get-together of the cast of Fox's first hit series from Sony Picture Television will coincide with the Feb. 4 release of one of two "Married ... with Children: The Most Outrageous Episodes" DVDs by Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. Five episodes will be featured on each DVD, including the never-seen-on-TV original uncut version of the infamous "Lost Episode," which will be part of the first volume. The entire cast of "Married ... with Children" gathered together in a replica of the Bundys' ramshackle living room for the taping of the reunion over the weekend, including stars Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate and David Faustino. The special will air in its old Sunday 9 p.m. start time. It will be part of what Fox entertainment president Gail Berman called "an extraordinary night of television." Revved up by the Daytona 500 in the afternoon, Fox's primetime lineup will feature a special episode of "King of the Hill" with Jennifer Aniston at 7 p.m. and three back-to-back original "Simpsons," including No. 300 at 8 p.m., leading into the "Married ... with Children" special. Guest stars on the 300th "Simpsons" will include skateboard star Tony Hawk and rock band Blink 182. " 'Married ... with Children' was an extraordinary television show for its time," Fox entertainment president Gail Berman said. "It broke all rules for TV family comedies, it put the network on the map. In tandem with 'The Simpsons,' it created a wonderful Sunday comedy block, and I think it's time to bring the Bundys and the Simpsons back together." Rocket Science Laboratories (Fox's "Temptation Island," "Joe Millionaire") is producing the special with the company's Chris Cowan and Jean-Michel Michenaud executive producing. " 'Married ... with Children' is one of the most important assets we've ever owned, and we couldn't be more proud of it," said Russ Krasnoff, president of programming and production at SPT. "When Fox said they wanted to do (the special), and it just happened to coincide with the timing of when we were going to do a DVD release, it seemed like a real good reason to do both to celebrate the show and as well to help market the DVD." The special will feature references to the DVD, he said. There have been two ideas -- of a "Married ... with Children" TV movie and a reunion special -- percolating at Fox for quite some time. While "the movie seemed more and more difficult as many of the cast have gone on to do other projects, and it was hard to get everyone's schedules together," the network was finally been able to get all of the actors together, Berman said. "Married ... with Children" bowed out in 1997 after 10 years on the air. |

I agree that this show needed some proper closure since the cheap finale. This reunion is perfect.

It's not going to really bring any sort of "closure" to the series. It's going to be a retrospective, with the cast out-of-character.

Saw the ad for it yesterday. Funny how they used the old violin music they used to use for their ads of Sunday's programming back then. That took me back.
I guess the lost ep for the DVD is maybe the one where Peg and Al watch a porno tape of Steve and Marcy doing it taped off a motel's closed circuit tv system?? |

*FOX SPECIAL*-- ‘Married…With Children REUNION SPECIAL’ -- (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) In Stereo-CC
THE BATTLING BUNDYS ARE BACK! ‘Married…With Children REUNION SPECIAL’ SUNDAY, FEB. 16, ON FOX For over ten years (1987-97), the somewhat atypical Bundys painted a painfully funny picture of a stereotypical, American working-class family. Starting on FOX’s very first night of prime-time programming (April 5, 1987), the series delivered over 200 episodes in eleven seasons. The original cast members of one of America’s favorite comedies, “MARRIED…WITH CHILDREN,” reunites Al Bundy (Ed O’Neill), an inept shoe salesman with an endless string of bad luck, who is married to Peg (Katey Sagal), a shopaholic housewife who has never spent a day in the kitchen. Living under the roof of their Chicago home are the Bundy offspring, Kelly (Christina Applegate), a promiscuous party animal, and Bud (David Faustino), a loser with a hyperactive libido. The Bundy family’s friends include Marcy Rhoades D'Arcy (Amanda Bearse) and husband Jefferson D’Arcy (Ted McGinley) who live next door, as well as Marcy’s ex-husband Steve Rhoades (David Garrison). The one-hour special will feature clips, individual interviews of the seven principal cast members, and a reunion of the cast on a recreation of the Bundy living room set airing Sunday, Feb. 16 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. THE BATTLING BUNDYS ARE BACK! “Married…With Children” REUNION SPECIAL AIRS SUNDAY, FEB. 16, ON FOX Historic Evening Of Comedy When One of America’s Favorite Sitcom Families Follows America’s Favorite Animated Family -- THE SIMPSONS -- 300th Episode The original cast members of one of America’s favorite comedies, “MARRIED…WITH CHILDREN,” will be reunited for a one-hour special airing Sunday, Feb. 16 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. For over ten years (1987-97), the somewhat atypical Bundys painted a painfully funny picture of a stereotypical, American working-class family. Starting on FOX’s very first night of prime-time programming (April 5, 1987), the series delivered over 200 episodes about suburban life that’s not pretty, but is always funny. With eleven seasons on FOX, “MARRIED…WITH CHILDREN,” is one of television’s longest-running comedies and has garnered several Emmy and Golden Globe nominations among numerous other accolades. MARRIED…WITH CHILDREN centers on Al Bundy (Ed O’Neill), an inept shoe salesman with the endless string of bad luck, who is married to Peg (Katey Sagal), a shopaholic housewife who has never spent a day in the kitchen. MARRIED…WITH CHILDREN REUNION SPECIAL will feature clips, individual interviews of the seven principal cast members, and a reunion of the cast on a recreation of the Bundy living room set. Preceding the MARRIED…WITH CHILDREN REUNION SPECIAL, THE SIMPSONS celebrates its 300th episode with three back-to-back episodes (7:30-8:00, 8:00-8:30 and 8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT). In the 300th episode “Barting Over,” Bart discovers he was a star of a commercial when he was a baby and that Homer has squandered all of his earnings. Bart takes Homer to court to win his emancipation, which Judge Harm (guest star Jane Kaczmarek of MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE) grants him. Newly freed Bart then moves into a loft downtown where he befriends guest stars Blink 182 and skateboard legend Tony Hawk, who live upstairs. As Bart embarks on a national tour with Tony, Homer appears, attempting to win his beloved Bart back into his life. MARRIED…WITH CHILDREN REUNION SPECIAL is executive produced by Chris Cowan and Jean-Michel Michenaud of Rocket Science Laboratories, LLC. |

Can't wait to watch the "reunion", although I wish there could be a actual reunion in character. Christina Applegate keeps looking better and better!
