Default violence & the media

You hear it all the time..."The lyrics in that song made him murder." "The violence in that video game made him do it."

What ever happened to evil people? It seems they were all shipped out and replaced by video games? Society needs to stop blaming video games, TV, and songs and start going back to what really commits murder...HUMANS.

If these do make people commit violent crimes, why hasn't the crime rate increased dramatically? I say, if they were going to commit the crime, they were going to commit the crime.

What video game was Hitler playing when he murdered millions of Jews?

Leave the entertainment industry alone!

I know... it's stupid. A song or whatever doesn't make someone do something, it's how they think and the actions that they decide to take.

I agree. It is so easy to blame everyone else instead of taking the blame. For some reason people feel it is perfectly okay to point fingers rather than take responsibility for their despicalble behavior.

The media is just a poor excuse for bad parenting. If parents dont want them watching that crap, then turn the damn channel! I swear, I wonder who has control in the house sometimes- the parents or the damn 8 yr old kid!??! If parents had half a clue theyd know not to let their children watch shows like NYPD BLUE, etc. NYPD BLUE doesnt make people run out on a rampage and kill- neglect does. I swear, one of these days a parent is gonna complain that their child slept with their cousin and is gonna blame it on Jerry!

I totally agree. I don't see why the entertainment industry gets blamed. I've watched cop shows when I was a kid and still do and I don't run around killing people. In my psychology class I took about violence in the media and kids below the age of 8 years old apparently can't process in their minds the information in a tv show for entertainment purposes unlike older people can. They can't seperate fantasy from reality. I definetely don't see how the media can completely be at fault.

I completely Agree with you I think LACK OF GOOD parenting IS THE real collaperate here I've worked with children in the childcare industry for 11 years now and I've seen ALOT OF PARENTS not discipline thier child well enough so that EVEN AT 4 years old (sometimes even TWO) they get away with things ALREADY I'm not saying THATS all Part of the problem I'm just saying thats where it starts
