Question Did someone other that Hugh Beaumont play Ward Cleaver

My youngest daughter really enjoyed LITB and has seen every episode. She insists she saw one episode where Ward Cleaver was portrayed by someone other than Hugh Beaumont

His name was Casey Adams and here's a pic. Hugh Beaumont made a much better Ward if you ask me.

I don't know if it has ever been shown on TVLand, but I do know she saw it at least two times. I am almost positive that it was before TVLand began.

I was able to find out the following regarding the 'first' Ward.

The Pilot was called "It's A Small World"(1956) and Casey Adams did play the part. Casey Adams originally performed under the name Max Showalter and subsequently started using that name again in late 50's or early 60's.

That guy looks very familiar. I looked him up on imdb.com and I see he was in an episode of TAGS, but I also want to say he was in TZ. It doesn't list him on TZ, but I think I've seen him on there.

The unaired pilot has never been seen on tv (to the best of my memory) other than TBS during the New Leave it to Beaver run. That's actually how I got my copy of it, was TBS during that time. TV Land will probably never air it because it's an unaired pilot (same with Gilligan). TBS actually showed the Gilligan pilot back then too (TBS was cool back then).

I never liked the original Ward in comparison to Hugh that is. The first Wally was pretty horrible as well.

(Beaver Trivia)

Jerry Mathers told a story at a book signing, about a detective search that was done to find Rusty Stevens who played Larry. The detective finally located the house where he lived. He went up to the front door inquiring about the child star. His wife responded by telling the individual that he had the wrong house. She went back in and told Rusty the story. Rusty said to his wife that the detective was correct in his assumption. Flabbergasted, his wife asked, Well, why didn't you ever tell me about this? Rusty told her, it never came up in the conversation
