While the person whoever is in charge of this website decides whether or not to get a message board for The Dukes Of Hazzard, i'm gonna start one by posting a topic about it. How come the cable station TNN stopped showing reruns of The Dukes? I was watching The Dukes on TNN 2 yrs ago & then all of a sudden they stopped showing reruns. I was the biggest Dukes fan in the 80's. I used to have their sleeping blanket when i was a kid. I wished i would've had their General Lee toy car when i was a kid. John Schneider & Tom Wopat were the best as Bo & Luke. How come they got replaced with them other 2 unknown actors? I loved Daisy Duke too. What's her real name? I liked Ennis, Roscoe P Coltrane, Boss Hogg, Uncle Jesse. I liked the sound of The Dukes car horn when they would blow it when they would fly up over a hill in their car. I liked how they would jump through the windows of the car when they would get in. I love everything about this show. I did see their reunion movie on tv in the mid 90's. When did that reunion movie come on? John Schneider now plays on Smallville on the WB network. I don't watch that show cause it's weird. Isn't John also a country singer? Isn't Tom Wopat a country singer also? The Dukes General Lee car was on display at this car convention we had in Cleveland last summer.

I, too, am a big Dukes of Hazzard fan. Some of my favorite
childhood memories involve watching the CBS Friday night line up in the late 70's and early 80's that included "Incredible Hulk," "Dukes of Hazzard," and "Dallas," with "Wonder Woman" for a short while. I managed to tape the series off TNN, and while they butchered it to death, I am grateful to have them at all. Also, thanks to a good internet friend, I managed to obtain all of the DOH cartoon episodes. I had not seen those since 1983. Now, as to the questions asked, at the start of this thread, here goes: TNN stopped showing DOH because they were trying to purge their so called "rural" image and the show did not fit the new TNN. IMHO, I think the old TNN was far superior. John Schneider and Tom Wopat were temporarily replaced in 1982 because the two walked off the show, in a contract dispute, over merchandising profits that they felt were being held from them. Byron Cherry and Christopher Mayer played Coy and Vance Duke, respectively, from 1982 to Feb of 1983, when John and Tom, thankfully returned. The reunion "Return to Hazzard" aired in 1997 to critical and viewer acclaim, for the most part. A second film, albeit inferior one, aired in 2000 called "Dukes of Hazzard in Hollywood." The second one, in my opinion, did not feel like the show at all. John and Tom both are country singers; Tom has also appeared on Broadway. Hope this answers your questions. PS a good DOH item to seek out is the 1983 Dukes of Hazzard: Gone Racin novel. It is my favorite doh collectable. The book features the whole cast and sets the stage for Bo and Luke's departure. Coy and Vance appear at the end. Apparently, this book was written when it was unclear if Tom and John would return. |

I used to watch that same friday night lineup when i was a kid & so did my mother. We loved Incredible Hulk, Dukes Of Hazzard & Dallas. I didn't know The Dukes Of Hazzard had a cartoon series. I never saw The Dukes Of Hazzard goes to Hollywood. Where was Hazzard County supposed to be located? Was it in California?

Hazzard County is suppose to be Georgia. The first five episodes of the series were filmed in Covington and Conyers, GA, but after that, the rest of the series was filmed on a backlot in Burbank, CA.
