Default Mel Jackson

This dude came on the last couple of seasons on the show. He was their male roommate. He has been in the movies Soul Food, Uninvited Guest with Mekhi Phifer & Mari Morrow, The Temptations, & now he's gonna be in the new movie Deliver Us From Eva with LL Cool J & Gabrielle Union. He was also on a episode of In The House with LL Cool J. He was on there as a schoolteacher who Maia Campbell had a crush on.

I did not like his addition to the show. All he did was get into the girls business, say something smart, and then leave the room. I guess I didn't like the fact that he was supposed to be the replacement for Kyle. I also didn't like the fact that they brought his ex girlfriend on the last couple of shows, when she was supposed to be the replacement for Regine. I love this show, but I think it was ruined in the last season because of Mel's character.

Wait a minute, Kyle and Regine left the show before it ended? I never knew that.

Yeah, Kyle left on the first couple of episodes of the last season, he supposedly went to London, so they bought in Mel who was a sorry replacement. Kyle came back for the last 2 episodes and found out that Max was carrying his child because of artifical insemination(sp). Regine was not in the last maybe 5 episodes, she found her rich guy and went off and got married. I have never heard a real explaination to why Kyle and Regine really left, but I assume they were busy with other projects or something.

I totally agree with this comment about Mel's addition to the show. It would have come acroos better if he were a younger cousin who Khadijah was trying to help out, so that would help the regular viewer to understand why she took his jibes. His comments and attitude didn't assist in the upliftment the show had developed into at the stage of the show's life.

The younger cousin idea is a good one!
