Default Mother Jefferson's Death Was Mentioned!!!!

In the very first episode of the 1978-1979 season, there was mention of Mother Jefferson's death as in they talked about going to her funeral!!! Also in the 1979-1980 episode where George wanted to put his father in the same cemetary as his mother was buried in!!!

Default RE: Mother Jefferson's Death Was Mentioned

The episode in which I'm referring to was the first episode of the 1978-1979 season where Allan Willis becomes a regular cast member of the Jeffersons and they made mention of Mother Jefferson's death as in they talked about Tom Willis being pallbearer at her funeral and nearly dropping the casket!!!

Still, Mother Jeffersons death was mentioned only in passing. It deserved an entire episode, with highlights as a tribute to Zara Cully.

I haven't seen that episode in quite some time since I don't get TV Land but I do remember that episode well!!! It was a shock when they mentioned her death on the show without even having the funeral shown or nothing!!!

When you saw that episode was it in 1978 or in syndication?

I wonder myself if that two-part episode where Allan Willis joins the cast as a regular and the mention of Mother Jefferson's death is on one of the Columbia House Videos of the Jeffersons!!! I have just started getting the Jeffersons on Columbia House Video!!!

There was an episode where George's father turned out to be alive but had left the family while George was young. Louise met him but decided against telling George the truth. So whose body was George going to put next to his mother's-it couldn't have been his father's if he was really alive?

I think you have that confused with the one where George sees Louise's father working at the newsstand and Louise said that her father left her or died when she was little.

I am going on the Jeffersons' website and see which episode it is.

No, I distinctly remember there was an episode where Louise met a man who turned out to be George's father. I looked in the episode guide and couldn't find it, but I don't think I have gone that senile yet. Does anyone else remember this?
