Default Hurtful or unkind words

In the episode Tire Trouble which just aired, Ward was so angry with the boys because he couldn't get his car in the garage that he called the boys stupid. It seems as though he implied Beaver was stupid in the episode Beaver's Bike as well. The boys told Ward that being called stupid hurt them alot worse than a swat would have. Ward apologized to the boys.

I do not recall a time, however, when Ward made a hurtful or unkind remark to June when he was angry with her. He always seemed to put forth an extra effort to control his temper when he was angry with her. Does anyone recall a time when Ward said something hateful or unkind to June that he later had to apologize for? Why do you think he made these types of remarks to the boys on occasion, but not to June?

I'm not talking about the playful banter that goes on in jest between Ward and June at times. Both of them have gotten in some great zingers from time to time, but they clearly were not angry when these words were spoken.

If you remember, in one ep, June kept saying, "But last Thursday..." And, Ward kept saying it, too. That's the only time that I ever remember them being REALLY mad at each other.

In the episode Beaver and Poncho, Ward was angry because June did not handle the situation about Beaver taking the dog to school when Mrs. Rayborn called the house. June had Mrs. Rayburn call Ward at work and he had to interupt important business to go down to Beaver's school.

Another time Ward was angry with June was in the episode Beaver's House Guest. It was the episode that dealt with divorce. Ward was angry because there was starch in his shirts. He even raised his voice when talking to June, but he didn't say anything unkind.

These are a couple of times I recall Ward becoming angry with June.

That's the one I was gonna say! June also mentions something in the episode "Wally's Haircomb." When June asks Ward to go upstairs and ask Wally to stop combing his hair like a "tango dancer" he replies "Dear I cant just go up there and tell our son he looks horrible." To this June replies "I wish you would have been that considerate of my feelings that time I came home in that sack dress." So apparently Ward said she looked horrible in her sack dress. I would consider that unkind!

That was unkind. I think another time he told June he didn't like her shoes that the boxes looked better. I was thinking more in terms of Ward's ever making a personally disparaging remark about June like he did when he called the boys stupid. I can't recall that he ever did that.

I love your new pictures. June looks beautiful even in her OHH LA LA blouse. Just loved it when Ward said Ohh La La as June walked up the stairs. The picture of June and Beaver captures the love she has for her son magnificently.
