Default Game Show Hosts

I hate the current crop of game show hosts. Nowadays, they use up and coming comedians or washed up celebrities to host game shows. What ever happened to the days when game show hosts were really hosts. They were people who seemed born to host a game show. Anybody else agree?

Yes, I agree. They must have closed the game show host college!

Wholeheartedly. But the audience for that type of show have changed and they want someone to entertain the audience while the game is going on. I'll save that for another topic later. Stay tuned.

I agree completely!! The only host that comes close to the "old-school" style is Todd Newton, but his shows suck.

Hosts today don't care about the contestants, the game...they care about exposure and a paycheck.

I agree with you guys. The thing that bothers me the most is that people like Louie Anderson and Richard Karn get to host Family Feud. They are not host material at all.

I agree! You can't give an institution like Family Feud to some dork off the street.

I love Louie on FF!!!!!! He was whicked generous on the show. It said on E! True Hollywood Story that for the Firefighter and Police Officers week special (for 9.11) all the money went to charity. Well, $60,000 came out of Louies own pockets. I dont know of too many game show hosts who would do that.

I'm not saying that he isn't a generous or nice guy, but imo, he's not that great of a game show host, he really kind of gets on my nerves. I didn't really care for "Life with Louie" either.
