Default I found out John Amos from Good Times never guest starred on Sanford and Son

I was waiting for the Sanford and Son marathon all week because i read on the tvome episode guide that John Amos from Good Times guest starred as one of Lamont friends named Luther in the second season. Come to find out, John Amos never appeared on a episode of Sanford and Son. So please do not pay attention to episode guides on tvome.com because it shows false information. I'm so mad.

Solomon,

I could've sworn I seen John in an episode. I swear. I remember seeing John Amos' name on the end credits because the minute I seen his name, I thought of John Stamos since they have really close names.

Well i checked his guest starring appearances and it was never on sanford and son. So i'm a little upset because that was my primary purpose of watching the marathon this weekend. It was said he was on the episode The Big Party

I'm trying to find a pic of John when he was on S & S. I checked imdb.com and it does have him listed on S & S.

"Sanford and Son" (1972) playing "Luther" in episode: "A Visit From Lena Horne" (episode # 2.16) 12 January 1973

I can't find a pic, but try catching that episode the next time it comes on.

okay i found it-thanks jenny. tvtome threw me off by removing his name of the episode guide. He was looking pretty old-older than he was on good times. i guess they had to make him look 50ish since he was playing one of fred's friends

Your welcome. I'm just glad you got the episode instead of having to wait until TVL showed it again.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's annoying when the tape runs out. I've had that happen to me quite a few times. It drives me crazy, especially if it's a movie or something that is hardly shown. You will get a chance to get the 1 am ep, I'm just sorry your tape ran out.

I know this has been answered already, LOL, but he did appear in that Lena Horne episode.

He look a LOT older than he did on Good Times, but like, I think, Solomon said, they probably had to make him look older because he should have been in his early sixties (or at least near Fred's age on the show).

I didn't bother to record the entire marathon. I got up to episode 40 and stopped. I was trying to cut the commercials out of most of them and was pretty successfull. I let the tape run by itself from like 11:30PM Saturday through 4:00AM Sunday morning and just decided it wasn't worth it, most of the episodes will air in the regular rotation. I stopped basically because they weren't airing in order anymore after like episode 56 or something, so I just wanted my tapes to be in order, no skippings, so it would be less confusing, LOL.

It should take approx. 3 months to complete a run if they air 10 episodes a week (6:00 & 6:30PM airs the same episodes the previous day that aired at 9PM and 1AM) so if you think about it, just 10 different episodes a week. And 135 episodes.

I'm taping Mama's Family and that's 130 episodes, started taping from the beginning in December and will finish by the end of February.

Well, I would like to apologize for that error. I personally, removed that piece of info along with all guest star information that had been contributed by people other than me. What I normally do is watch the episode and then enter the info, to make sure the info is correct. This is the case with my Jeffersons, Good Times and Leave It to Beaver guides as well as all of the others that I'm editor for. Thank you for e-mailing me concerning that error. I always try to make sure that all information in my guides are correct, but when people enter mis-information, it's hard to find and correct.

Currently, all guest star info entered under Sanford & Son has been personally verified by me.

I think airing Sanford and son 4 times a day is a bit much. TV Land will go through a season every 2 weeks which means by the end of feburary, they should be near the last season.

Smile John Amos

Yes John Amos did appear on Sanford. & Son. It was when Fred had taken bets with his friends that Lena Horn was coming to his house on her way to the air port. He told her "little" Lamont was ill and his last wish was to meet her.
