OK, that subject may sound kind of dumb, but I'm still not sure what Jerry's real career was in his ADULTHOOD. Like I know he went to Berkeley college and majored in philosophy I believe but then besides doing a bit of acting what was his career after that? All I know that he does now is talk around the country to people about his diabetes. Well, Tony Dow is a director, Rusty Stevens sells insurance, Stanley Fafara is an artist, etc, but what about the Beaver??

I think Jerry even released an album a long time ago. I think he was about 17 or 18 at the time. Not too sure about that fact. I might have Jerry mixed up with somebody else.

I know that after LITB was cancelled Jerry was in a band during his high school years called "Beaver and the Trappers". Richard Correll (who played Richard Rickover on LITB) was also in the band. Jerry was the lead singer and Richard played drums. There was also 2 or 3 other guys, but I'm not sure what their names are. In Jerry's book he said a few of their songs made it to the top ten in Alaska and Hawaii. I heard a sound clip of one of their songs "Wind up Toy" at one site. It sounds kind of funny! I'll have to look for it again and maybe post it here.

I know he did something in the Banking business and I believe he did a little real estate...And he did go back to acting. He did a couple of theater productions in Kansas City with Tony Dow.

Well, he of course went back to acting during the 80s (NLITB), but then after that, it just seems like he's a spokesperson for a whole bunch of things. Diabetes, psoriasis, dyslexia, Jenny Craig...that's probably all he really needs to do, I bet he makes a good amount of money endorsing things, and on Entertainment Tonight, he mentioned the fact that his money was handled well from when he was a kid, so financially he's taken care of.

My sister used to work for the Alzheimer's Foundation near Detroit and she said he was a speaker there about a year or two ago. Having worked at a speaker's agency, I know that these celebs who speak can make quite a bit for one speech, even 5000 dollars or more. So if he does that, I'm sure he can live quite well that way.

Hi,
I too am looking for any additional information on Jerry Mather's more so between the ages of 14-18. (Just past his Beaver years through high school) for some on-going research. Based on his book, (or any other info) what did Jerry like to do in his spare time? What subjects did he like in school? How did he get along with his parents/family? Jack |
