whatever became of Phyllis's daughter?

Last week I saw the episode #3 where Mary takes care of Bess and they did some location shooting of the two of them shopping. I thought it was a great episode. I remembered that when I was a kid I had a crush on the actress who played Bess on both the MTM show and later on Phyllis. I wonder whatever happened to her? I think her name was Lisa (something)?

Her name is Lisa Gerritsen, and it seems that after Phyllis went off the air, she left show business. Nobody knows what happened after that.

Nobody, that is, except her family and friends. Don't you love how the public assumes that an actor either dies or goes into suspended animation when they drop out of acting? Imagine:

"Well, Ms. Gerritsen, since you don't want to be an actress anymore, humanity has no use for you. You're not allowed to pursue other careers, so I'm banishing you to the corn field. If a reunion show presents itself, we may keep you in mind. Have a nice time in limbo."
