Post I Have A Freddie Video I Didn't Know I Had! :) :) :) :)

I just found out that we have a video with Freddie in it & I didn't know he was on it either. My hubby had bought a few yrs back this nice boxed set of several videos of Johnn Carson that has clips from some of his old shows on it. It has 4 videos in the set. 3 of them have clips from different old shows of him in it. The 4th one is a video of Carsons last TONIGHT show he did.

Well my hubby said he was watching one of the videos which was the one of CARSONS last TONIGHT show & Freddie was in it! I was so excited! I made him dig it out & show ti to me. At first I wondered if he was just kidding me but he wasn't! I forwarded thru it to Freddies part & was so excited I was practically jumping up & down! I had fun driving my hubby nuts with the slow motion!

What he does in it is: They have a segment in there where they show clips of different performers who were on the TONIGHT show with Johnny Carson & show the clips one after another while this instrumental music is playing. They show a bunch of differnet stars one after another, then they show Gore Vial & then they show Freddie & then they show another late comic Sam Kiniston.

Freddie is sitting in a chair next to Carsons desk talking to him & gesturing with his hands. You can't hear what he is saying tho. My hubby thinks the clip may be from 1975 but he's not quite sure tho...

Here is the intimate details you have all been waiting for... What he looked like & wore!

His hair is nice black, a little shorter looking but covers his ears, dreamy eyes... He still has the space inbetween his teeth. His mustache looks real thin. He is more muscular looking yet & looks like he weighs more than when he did when he died. Not as skinny looking as when he died...

He is wearing a nice black or it might be navy (it's hard to tell) single breasted suit. It has 2 gold buttons on each sleeve & I think he maybe wearing a black hanky in his suitcoat pocket to match his suit (not quite sure-- looks like it tho), & his shirt is a 70's looking shirt. It is long sleeve button front like you'd wear with a suit & has a white background & a red & blue calico type or patchwork print on it-- an unusual 70's type print on it. He's not wearing a tie with his suit either. His shirt is open at the neck & no it's not unbuttoned way, way down to there.

He looks cute of course! He has such a sweet baby face but yet looks so mature for his age.

Here on Carsons site are all of Freddie's appearances listed & you can click on each to view what theyw ere about:

I think I have seen the video of this selling by itself without the whole boxed set. I think I've seen it in video stores & for sale on Carsons website. here is a link to it on Carsons website:
http://www.johnnycarson.com/carson/s...collection.jsp

Anyway it is a great clip. I took some pics of it with my 35 mm camera so that I can put the pics on my site & folks can see it! It is one of those clips where one minute when you are watching it you are thinking how hot he is but the next minute you are watching it if you are watching it with the music playing in the background instead of paused or slow mo it will make you miss him & you'll get all sad... What a sweet baby!

Now that I think about it, I taped the last Carson episode back in '92 or '93 or whenever it was & I may still have it. I'll have to dig it out of my bedroom closet, which resembles an Afgan cave right now...Also, I saved the TV guide that came out the week Johnny's show ended and there is a HUGE article about the show...I'm at work now, but when I go home I will see if there is any mention or any pics of Freddie...And my Dad said that he bought for $19.95 a single tape of Dean Martin's best roasts and that Freddie is on there. I told my Dad I thought you had to buy an entire set, but he said no, that this was some sort of special offer. Anyway, he said that Freddie does this schtick about his parents meeting each other when they were trying to pick each other's pockets...My brother promised to dub the tape for me and I'll try to get something about the roast on my site...

Now that the terrorists all have us hiding in our homes I intend to update my site a bit, including a review of Can You Hear the Laughter, if I ever get around to watching it...I'd love to add some of your comments and critiques about THAT MOVIE, too.

Take care all & Viva La Freddie!

I was so excited that my hubby found him on there. I knew everyone would want to know all the details cuz I would want to know if it was me.

Can you share more info on that DEAN MARTIN ROASTS tape? I want one! My hubby thinks he saw one somewhere once but didn't know if Freddie was in it or not. I've been looking around & have been unsucessful in finding any. The schtick about his folks picking eash others pockets is on the LOOKING GOOD album...

I wonder if this Carson clip might be an early one cuz his mustache is really thin. I have an old pic of him taken when he first started out where he doesn't have a mustache & he looks less hispanic looking without it. I'm betting he was just starting to grow his mustache. He was just a baby back then...

The CAN YOU HEAR THE LAUGHTER movie is really sad at the end when he dies. It'll have you bawling your eyes out at the end & breaking out the hankies. I think I went thru several hankies watching it at the end it was soooo sad.

Looking forward to the new stuff on your site!
